Concertino by Eugène Bozza is a piece for C Tuba or Bb Saxhorn and Piano. Written in two parts this work lasts 17 minutes and is very difficult to execute as a strong endurance and a high level of skill and technique is required. The whole score is in F key with some accidental alterations. Very interesting in term of melody and sonority this piece definitely shows the full Tuba range at its best and is perfect for contests and recitals. Eugène Bozza won different prizes at the Conservatoire de Paris such as the First Prize for the Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome.He composed several operas chamber works and ballets among others.

Composed by Roger Boutry Tubaroque is a melodious piece of baroque music for Tuba Bb Bass Saxhorn or Bass Trombone with Piano accompaniment. Quite difficult it would be perfect for advanced players and would work well in a concert. Starting with a small introduction in three measures the first part of the piece begins on a 'Slow Waltz movement' which consists of a main theme with two variations including one played an octave lower. The second part 'Allegretto' is more lyrical and the last one 'Moderato/Allegro' starts like a march to then go back to a more melodious finale. Roger Boutry is a Frenchmusician and contemporary composer who received eight First Prizes at the Conservatoire including composition conducting and Piano. He also won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1954 and some prizes by the SACEM and by the city of Paris. He also got involved as a professor of Harmony and director of Orchestras.

This work was written in the winter months of 2006 for Peter Smith to whom it is dedicated. It is in three short movements which are thematically related. The work received its first performance in June 2006 by Peter Smith and Jennifer Miles. The performance led to a commission from Professor James Watson on behalf of the Brass Faculty of the Royal Academy of Music for a further four sonatas for brass and piano (for Bass Trombone Tenor Trombone Horn and Trumpet/Flugelhorn) and a concluding Sinfonia Concertante for five solo brass brass ensemble and percussion; which form a series.

Premiered in October 2018 by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, principal tubist David Saltzman as soloist, the Concerto features three movements with a cadenza between the second and third. Adler likens the solo passages in the first movement and cadenza to a singing cantor, an obvious homage to his own father's work in that role.
