The first of these songs was commissioned by the 2003 Presteigne Festival where it was given its premiere by Gillian Keith (soprano) and Simon Lepper (piano). The second and third were added later. The first integral performance of the cycle was given at the 2006Festival by Andrew Carwood (tenor) and Alex Soddy (piano) St. Andrew's Church Presteigne 25 August 2006.
