Score-Bernhard Heiden's Quartet For Horns. Bernhard Heiden the well-known composer and teacher was born in Frankfurt-am-Main Germany in 1910. A pupil of Hindemith he came to the UnitedStates in 1935 and taught at the Art Center Music School in Detroit; he was later made Professor of Music and chairman of the composition department at Indiana University. He has written music in many genres: theatre works orchestral chamber and also instrumental works. His Quartet For Horns (1981) was written for the International Horn Society.

German baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) was a self-taught multi-instrumentalist becoming a composer against his family's wishes. However his musical career saw him hold important positions and to this day he remains a major composer.
