The Missa in F of 1734 for two or four choirs is probably Pergolesi’s most important work for choir and orchestra. The nickname 'Missa Romana' was added later in reference to a performance given in Rome during Pergolesi’s lifetime.This Urtext edition presents the work for the first time in the four-choir version that Pergolesi wrote for the above mentioned performance in Rome. Rameau's only surviving opera based on a libretto by Voltaire has survived in two versions (1745 and 1746), whereby the 1745 version was long considered lost. Voltaire refers to Metastasio in his libretto in that he wishes to liberate the opera from the gallant milieu and to make it a moralizing stage work that is equally edifying and political. After a prologue dedicated to envy personified, the tyrants Bélus and Bacchus are chased out of the Hall of Fame and finally Trajan is crowned with laurels for defeating the rebels, forgiving them and ultimately turning the Hall of Fame into a public temple. Opera seria in tre atti-Rinaldo HWV 7a; Opera in three acts.Version of 1711. This was Handel’s first opera for London first performed at the theatre in the Haymarket in February 1711. It was strong in both music (including recomposed versions of some movements that Handel had previously written for his operas in Italy) and staging: a contemporary described the opera as ‘filled with Thunder and Lightening Illuminations and Fireworks’. Quatre Instants for Soprano and Orchestra is an arrangement of the composer's own Quatre Instants for Soprano and Piano and was commissioned by the Finnish Chamber Orchestra Association and the Leipzig Gewandhaus. Thefirst performance took place at the Tammisaari Summer Concert Festival Finland in August 2003 given by Karita Mattila Soprano and conducted by Jukka-Pekka Saraste.

This is the Full Score and Parts for The Voices Of Our Ancestors by Thea Musgrave. This work is scored for a chorus with soloists (Soprano Mezzo-Soprano Tenor and Baritone) Brass Quintet and Organ. A full performance of the work lasts around 30 minutes. The text for The Voices Of Our Ancestors is drawn from 12 poems that are united in their attempt to answer the question of human existence. Inspired by these poems Musgrave composed this work which was first performed on 9th July at St Bride's church Fleet Street as part of the City of London Festival.
