After Peter Gulke's revised edition of the Unfinished, here is the new edition (1992) of the Fifth by Peter Hauschild. Since the Fifth Symphony was first published by Breitkopf & Hartel in 1885, a text-critical edition based on the sources of this work was long overdue. Though the alterations in the earlier text were made by none other than Johannes Brahms, they are treated here as footnotes, for our new edition rigorously follows the primary sources.Die neue Partiturausgabe ist der Qualitat des Werkes ebenburtig.
