Added by magataganm, 23 Aug 2012 A close contemporary of Weber, the German-born Friedrich Kuhlau settled in Copenhagen, where he spent the greater part of his career as a composer, pianist and teacher. Kuhlau wrote a copious quantity of music for the piano, including a fine Piano Concert . Kuhlau was most famous in his day as a flautist and composer for flute. But, he obviously was a good keyboard player and his Sonatinas are part of the regular student repertoire, like the Sonatinas of Clementi. They are actually a little bit more difficult than Clementi, and so serve as a good bridge to Mozart Sonatas. The most popular of the Sonatinas is Opus 20, No. 1. Although this piece was originally written for Piano, I adapted this work for solo Concert (Pedal) Harp. Sheet central : | 3 Sonatines (5 sheet music) | |
