Added by magataganm, 17 Jul 2016 The Pedal-Exercitium in G Minor (BWV 598)is a very short piece for organ in G minor. It is a complex exercise meant only for the organ pedals, consisting of fast passages and difficult articulation. The handwriting of the manuscript is Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, son of Johann Sebastian. The origins of the composition are uncertain: according to the musicologist Alberto Basso this is a song that Carl Philipp tried to transcribe on the spot while his father was improvising to the pedals. The transcript, however, does not have a conclusion. Bach's authorship on this piece is doubtful and it may have been composed by his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. Although originally written for Organ, I created this modern interpretation of the Pedal-Exercitium in G Minor (BWV 598) for Solo Viola. Sheet central : | Pedal-Exercitium (3 sheet music) | |
