Ajoutée par magataganm, 14 Jui 2013 "Uns ist ein Kind geboren" ("Unto us a child is born"), is a Christmas cantata which was formerly attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach as his BWV 142, but was most likely composed by his predecessor in Leipzig, Johann Kuhnau, around 1720. Johann Kuhnau (1660 – 1722) was a German composer, organist and harpsichordist. He was the predecessor of Johann Sebastian Bach as Thomaskantor in Leipzig from 1701 to 1722. Kuhnau was born in Geising, present-day Saxony. He grew up in a religious Lutheran family. At age nine, he auditioned successfully for the Kreuzschule in Dresden. He sang in the Dresdner Kreuzchor and studied with Hering and Bental, later with Vincenzo Albrici. The Tenor Aria: "Jesu, dir sei Dank" (Jesus, thank you) is the 5th of eight movements and and although originally scored for three soloists (alto, tenor and bass, four-part choir, two recorders, two oboes, two violins, viola and basso continuo), I created this arrangement for Woodwind Quartet (Flute, English Horn, Bb Clarinet & Bassoon). Partition centrale : | Uns ist ein Kind geboren (13 partitions) | |
