Finally, Slide Hampton's incredible music is in print. This wonderful chart was written for the Maynard Ferguson Dream Band. Starting with a dramatic, rich intro, this chart moves through a series of tempo and meter changes with excitement building at every turn. The bulk of the piece is a fast jazz waltz which then moves into a medium-up swing feel. The ending is a reprise of the beginning. There is solo space for alto and tenor saxophone and trumpet. This is recorded by the University of North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band Lab on their CD Lab 2010. 5-5-4-3 or original instrumentation.
