Reynaldo Hahn: Melodies Vol 3: Baritone Voice: Vocal Album

Format : Sheet music

Along with Piano music song is Reynaldo Hahn's (1874-1947) preferred genre: with his light Baritone voice the young prodigy conquered Parisian salons by singing the works of his favourite composers (Gounod Massenet Fauré) not to mention his own compositions which enchanted audiences. Though finely wrought these songs have a naturalness which continues to please as evidenced by the success of the first two volumes. For many this third volume will be a revelation since it assembles for the first time songs that were published separately in magazines. It also includes the Love without wings cycle (1904 based on melancholy poems by Mary Robinson) andthe series of songs performed by Yvonne Printemps in the film La Dame aux Camélias (1934) which were on everyone's lips at the time. Contents: Aimons-nous Une étoile Dans l’été Au pays musulman Love without wings (Ah! Could I clasp thee in mine arms The fallen oak I know you love me not) Oh! For the wings of a dove!
