Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741) “was sprightly and highly inventive and he filled almost half the world with his concertos” wrote Quantz in a brief appreciation of Vivaldi a generation later. It was only by chance that this Flute Concerto in D major which was preserved anonymously in Schwerin – truly half a world away from Venice – has been identified as a composition by Vivaldi. Easy to perform this concerto radiates musical freshness and high spirits.- Full score and parts (HM 265) available for sale- Flute & Piano reduction (BA6892)
