Nicholas Ryan Kelly an emerging composer was introduced to Pavane Publishing through his winning composition in the North Dakota State Edwin Fissinger competition. This new piece demonstrates his skills of musically describing the text. The piano writing is not an accompaniment it is part of the piece. The vocal writing the modulations all reveal an artist at work. Poet Bliss Carman provides a text describing nature's rich colors which are skillfully enhanced under Kelly's care.
