Composed by Chris Matheos. Ebook and online audio. 64 pages. Published by Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music (M0.98582BCDEB). - ebook and online audio - - Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music
ISBN 9781619115163. 5.5 x 8 inches. This Qwikguide shows bassists how to play along with popular jazz chord progressions. The examples demonstrate how to use triads, arpeggios, scales, and passing tones in swing, be-bop, bossa nova, and ballad styles. The sample bass lines are all written in tablature for the 4-string bass, making it easy to learn fingerings and positions. Comes with access to online audio that presents each example twice, once as bass solo with accompaniment (piano and drums) and then as accompaniment only.

Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.746991 By Dizzy Gillespie. By Dizzy Gillespie and Frank Paparelli. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Jazz. 13 pages. Keith Terrett #5827945. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746991). A great sounding arrangement of A Night in Tunisia, your Wind Quintet will love it!A jazz solo is written out for you, if you wish you can improvise on the given chord symbols!A Night in Tunisia is a musical composition written by Dizzy Gillespie around 1941â42, while Gillespie was playing with the Benny Carter band. It has become a jazz standard. It is also known as Interlude. Gillespie called the tune Interlude and said some genius decided to call it 'Night in Tunisia'. He said the tune was composed at the piano at Kelly's Stables in New York. He gave Frank Paparelli co-writer credit in compensation for some unrelated transcription work, but Paparelli had nothing to do with the song. A Night in Tunisia was one of the signature pieces of Gillespie's bebop big band, and he also played it with his small groups. In January 2004, The Recording Academy added the 1946 Victor recording by Gillespie to the Grammy Hall of Fame.On the album A Night at Birdland Vol. 1, Art Blakey introduced his 1954 cover version with this statement: At this time we'd like to play a tune [that] was written by the famous Dizzy Gillespie. I feel rather close to this tune because I was right there when he composed it in Texas on the bottom of a garbage can. The audience laughs, but Blakey responds, Seriously. The liner notes say, The Texas department of sanitation can take a low bow.The complex ostinato bass line in the A section is notable for avoiding the standard walking bass pattern of straight quarter notes, and the use of oscillating half-step-up/half-step-down chord changes (using the Sub V, a tritone substitute chord for the dominant chord) gives the song a unique, mysterious feeling. The B section is notable for having an unresolved minor II-V, since the chord progression of the B section is taken from the B section of the standard Alone Together, causing the V chord to lead back into the Sub V of the A section.Like many of Gillespie's tunes, it features a short written introduction and a brief interlude that occurs between solo sections - in this case, a twelve-bar sequence leading into a four-bar break for the next soloist.

Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1290542 By Chick Corea. By Al Jarreau, Artie Maren, Chick Corea, and Joaquin Rodrigo. Arranged by Popnroll 1976. Jazz,Latin. Score (Chords/Lyrics). 4 pages. Popnroll 1976 #881260. Published by Popnroll 1976 (A0.1290542). Spain (I Can Recall) - Al Jarreau (Vocal/Synthesizer Solo/Scat Solo)This is a lead sheet with a complete copy of the synthesizer solo and scat solo of the vocal version of Chick Corea's famous song Spain from the album This Time released in 1980 by Al Jarreau, a jazz fusion singer known for his singing percussion.PDF format, 4 pages.Lyricsï¼Al Jarreau, Arthur J. Maren Composerï¼Chick Corea, Joaquin Vidre RodrigoVocalï¼Al Jarreau Synthesizer & Rhodes Electric Pianoï¼Larry Williams Bass: Abraham Laboriel Drums: Steve Gadd Produced by Jay GraydonSong Description ãThis is a jazz fusion classic from Chick Corea's 1972 Return To Forever album, Light As A Feather, with lyrics by Al himself. ãThe synthesizer solo was played by Larry Williams, a keyboardist and saxophonist of the fusion band Seawind, who skillfully used upper structure triad arpeggios to drive the song in a wide range. ãAl's scat solo in the latter half of the song is a highlight. It starts with a relaxed phrase, moving in a close range in the first half, and shows a sign of excitement with flutter tangling in D (a technique unique to wind instruments that makes the sound tremble by fine movements of the tongue) at the beginning of the second half. The last four bars of the song are a perfect blend of alternating scales and blue notes, folding in exquisite ups and downs, and finally resolving to B major at the end. ãIn the chord progression, the second half of [B] and Gmaj7 (two beats after Dmaj7) in [E] and [M] are not Chick Corea's original, but he seems to use them in this arrangement.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Bass Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.946355 Composed by Jimmy Giuffre. Arranged by Benjamin Karaca. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional,Jazz,Standards. 17 pages. Benjamin Karaca #6409831. Published by Benjamin Karaca (A0.946355). Jimmy Giuffre composed Four Brothers for Woody Herman's Second Herd. This band was famous for its saxophone section, which featured the unusual lineup of three Tenor Saxophones and one Baritone Saxophone (TTTB). This saxophone quartet arrangement is often referred to as the Four Brothersâ lineup. Four Brothers (the piece) is now a jazz standard and a showcase piece for any saxophone section. This version is a transcription (or leadsheet) of the main theme. The key matches the original. In addition to the original TTTB lineup, I've added as many additional parts as possible. This version can be played with any sensible combination of Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and even Bass Saxophones. The main theme of Four Brothers provides the quartet with a perfect opportunity to focus on various important aspects of ensemble playing, including phrasing, articulation, timing, volume (balance), and tone. Additionally, I've added an intonation exercise based on the chord progression of the [A] section.Saxophone Quartet in various lineups (SATB, AATB, TTTB etc.). Level 4/5.Part 1: Soprano Sax / Alto Sax / Tenor SaxPart 2: Alto Sax / Tenor Sax / Baritone SaxPart 3: Alto Sax / Tenor Sax / Baritone SaxPart 4: Tenor Sax / Baritone Sax / Bass SaxScore in CA high-quality arrangement by a professional musician. It also includes interesting information about the piece and helpful tips for interpretation. For more information, please visit my website: www.benjaminkaraca.com.
