Composed by David McKeown. Blues, Easter, Pop, R & B, Rock. 2 scores. 3 pages. David McKeown #6293913. Published by David McKeown
The Easter Egg Rock is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for two Alto Saxophones.
The Easter Egg Rock is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Modern Rock music has its origins in Rock?n?Roll, with the first use of the word in 1951 by an Ohio DJ. The first big hit was Bill Haley?s \"Rock Around the Clock\"in 1955, but other artists such as Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Gene Vincent and Little Richard all have strong claims to being the first Rock?n?Roll artist.
The Easter Egg Rock is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Easter Egg Rock is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Instrumental Duet,Soprano Saxophone - Level 3 - SKU: A0.588148 By The Beatles. By John Lennon, John Winston Lennon, Paul James Mccartney, and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #5306115. Published by David McKeown (A0.588148). When I’m Sixty-Four first appeared on the Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Despite the song’s appearance relatively late in the Beatles’ discography, it was one of the first songs that Paul McCartney wrote, at the age of 16. When the song was finally recorded in 1966, Paul McCartney felt it was too slow and turgid. George Martin simply solved the problem by speeding up the tape and raising the pitch by one semitone. This version of When I’m Sixty-Four is arranged as a duet for one Soprano and one Alto Saxophone. The full YouTube performance above is the Alto Saxophone version of this duet.Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with ensemble skills and expressive playing. This version of When I’m Sixty-Four is arranged as a duet for one Alto and one Tenor Saxophone. Published by David McKeown (A0.591390). The Easter Bonnet Bop is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Alto and one Tenor Saxophone. The Easter Bonnet Bop is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. The origins of the word Bop lie in the scat language of the ‘40s; Bop quickly became associated with the fast Bebop jazz of the period as musicians vocalised the offbeat rhythms of their angular melodies. Later in the ‘50s when Rockabilly and Rock’n’Roll first appeared, Bop was used to describe both the dance moves and the dance venues themselves. The Easter Bonnet Bop is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Easter Bonnet Bop is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal.
