The lyrics we know and love were added much later by German composer Ernst Anschütz in 1824. The association with Christmas appeared later in the nineteenth century.With a performance time of three minutes and a half minutes, this version of O Christmas Tree is perfect for seasonal celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. Each piece explores a different style and flavour of Latin music, from the Rumbas, Salsas and Mambos of Cuba, to the Sambas and Bossas of Brazil, and on to the Calypsos and Merengues of the Caribbean. Mexico is represented by the Huapango, Venezuela and Colombia by the Joropo, and Argentina and Uruguay by the Tango.

This version borrows from the swinging jazz style of various Sinatra recordings and is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Clarinet.
