The duration of the song is about 6 minutes.About the song:Winter’s Breath is an original Christmas song (original music and lyrics) composed in 2014. The lyrics embrace both a secular and religious message of peace, love, and hope inspired by the beauty of winter snow. I really wanted to write a more profound Christmas song with an important message embracing a modern view of Christmas since so many songs are commercialized or limited in meaning.Having lived in the Arizona desert since 2007, snow has become a novelty to me, and I was inspired by its beauty and the memories I had of winter growing up in northern Illinois. The chorus that repeats throughout the song presents an irony of winter warming the soul. I found this to be both interesting and also meaningful in that I was describing my new viewpoint of winter snow (seeing more beauty in it than before) and presenting a metaphor for life-one that encourages the listener to see the beauty in something that most northerners despise.The first verse begins with sensory perceptions including seeing, hearing, touching, and smelling various natural qualities of winter. The second verse describes the joy of children playing in the snow and their belief in winter stories. The third verse is directed at worrying adults with a message of hope for the future. The bridge encourages the listener to look past the negativity and differences in other people and look towards Christmas and the new year for a hope renewed. The final verse concludes with the traditional religious view of Christmas tradition.

Written around 1820 by Italian composer Saverio Raffaele Mercadante, this engraving of his CONCERTO FOR HORN is in the original key and has been meticulously edited. Consisting of two sections, the beautiful, plaintive opening slow section (Larghetto alla Siciliano) is about 2.5 minutes in length and works well as a stand-alone feature to showcase the sonority of the horn. It would be perfect for a talented high school player. The concluding fast section (Allegretto brillante) is bubbly, delightful, and quite technically challenging in a few spots. The concert band / wind ensemble accompaniment (available separately) is scored to prevent overpowering the soloist and will work with smaller groups for senior recitals, etc. NOTE: This download is for the 4-page SOLO PART ONLY. He, therefore, developed and used very specific notation to indicate instrumentation. Gabrieli experimented with assembling massive instrumental forces into isolated groups separated by space. In this way, he consequently contributed heavily to the Baroque Concertato style. Polychoral Works Gabrieli probably used the layout of the San Marco church for his experiments. This is because he worked there as a musician and composer. Furthermore, the church had two choir lofts facing each other. He certainly used these to create striking spatial effects between instrumental forces. Certainly, many of his works are composed such that a choir or instrumental group could first be heard on one side, then consequently followed by a response from the group on the other side. Sometimes there was probably a third group positioned near the main altar as well. Spatial Music Above all, Gabrieli studied carefully detailed groups of instruments and singers. Furthermore, it seems like he created precise directions for instrumentation in rather than two groups. The instruments, because they could be appropriately situated, could consequently be heard with perfect clearness at distant locations. As a result, arrangements that seem bizarre on paper, can in contrast sound perfectly in balance. First Works Finally, Gabrieli published his first motets along with his uncle Andrea's compositions in Concerti (1587). These compositions furthermore indicate considerable usage of dialogue and echo effects. Consequently, here we see low and high choirs with the variance between their ranges indicated by instrumental accompaniment. Written in 1910 and dedicated to the music students of Morley College, Gustav Holst wrote Christmas Day for choir and a sizable orchestra to perform a series of old Christmas carols. Themes and variants of In Dulci Jubilio (Good Christian Men Rejoice), God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, The First Nowell, and Come Ye Lofty, Come Ye Lonely are interwoven throughout the piece with Holst's clever craftsmanship, and although the composer and his heirs thought little of the work, it has enjoyed popularity as a seasonal choir piece. This setting revises the original orchestral/choir version note for note for the modern concert band with no concessions made except for some slight key shifts in consideration for band. This composer also likes featuring neglected sections, when possible, so the opening alto solo is arranged for a lone tuba to take before the piece opens up for everyone else.

Commissioned by Mitch Sturman in memory of our mutual friend, composer John B. Edmondson (1933-2016). Mr. Sturman had commissioned new works for the Wilson Jr. H. S. Warrior Band in El Centro, CA for nine years for annual Concerts of Premieres. John B. Edmondson, one of America's leading composers of educational music, with over 800 compositions and arrangements in his catalog, had been commissioned by Mitch seven times for new works, including his last ever composition, Imperial County Impressions performed in May, 2016, prior to Mr. Sturman's retirement in June, 2016. The first commission John had made for Mitch was his Serenade for Solo Clarinet and Band. Mitch felt it would be a fitting tribute for me to compose a work also for solo clarinet and band. This was composed for a memorial tribute concert for John B. Edmondson at Wilson Junior High School on April 6, 2017, where the seven pieces commissioned for the Wilson Band would be performed. The solo clarinet, first clarinet, and first trumpet require moderately experienced players to play the parts musically. All the rest of the parts are easily handled by a typical junior high school band.

Cururu is one of the genres of Brazilian country music that inspired the creation of this song. This song tells the story of a country person who went to live in the metropolis and reflected that it was all illusion when she was confronted with the violence and ambition typical of the big city, making her miss the simple life in the countryside. The wood stove, the mud on the ground, riding in a cart, milking the cow, eating fruit from the tree, the freedom to walk without worry are memories that lead her to believe that God willing she will one day return to her origins. This instrumental version included three solos that can be replaced by improvisation. The main melody and counterpoints alternate between suits, with the use of voicings characteristic of the style. Without a doubt, it's an excellent opportunity to expand your band's repertoire with authentically Brazilian music.

Georgia’s Horn – F or Eb Horn Solo with Concert Band: This piece was written for my niece, Georgia Cotter, who at the time was learning to play the French Horn at school. It is written in a comfortable range for the French Horn. Hopefully one day she will perform it.It consists of a repeating 3/4 theme mainly played by Solo Horn or Horn section, with various countermelodies which build up at each re-statement. This version is for concert band which includes parts for Piano and Glockenspiel. An orchestral version is also available at this site. The MP3 was recorded with NotePerformer.Grade = 3 Duration 3:50 mins.
