Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105045 By Edith Piaf. By Edith Piaf and Louiguy. Arranged by James Pybus. Contest,Festival,Pop,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. 54 pages. James Pybus #708289. Published by James Pybus (A0.1105045). Édith Piaf, also known as “The Little Sparrow,†rose to international stardom in the late 1930s as a symbol of French passion and tenacity. Of Piaf’s many ballads, La Vie en Rose, which she wrote, is remembered as her signature song. Other favorites among the singer's repertoire include Milord, Padam Padam, Mon Dieu, the charming Mon Manège à Moi and the anthemic Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien. Having a life beset by addictions and related health issues, Piaf died in France in 1963 at the age of 47. She continues to be revered as a national treasure. This arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet is a medley of some of Piaf's most well-known songs and may be performed in its entirety, or each song may be played individually. If you choose the latter option do not play the transition measures between songs. In order, the songs are La Vie en rose (Take Me To Your Heart Again), Piaf’s signature song; Milord (or Ombre de la Rue [Shadow of the Street]); Sous le ciel de Paris; Padam, padam and Non, je ne regrette rien (No, I do not regret anything). This arrangement is suitable for a wide variety of performance and concert settings. The duration is 10:02. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Bach: French Suite No. 5, BWV 816, for Saxophone Quartet
Quatuor de Saxophones: 4 saxophones
Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Te…
(+)
Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1406650 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Historic,Standards. 59 pages. Jmsgu3 #989408. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1406650). The importance of Bach's French Suites lies in their unique blend of French and Italian styles despite the misleading title. These suites, composed between 1722 and 1725 for the clavier, showcase Bach's mastery in stylizing traditional dances like allemandes, courantes, sarabandes, and gigues. While named French Suites by later sources like Johann Nikolaus Forkel, they follow Italian conventions with some French influences. The suites offer a rich musical experience, bridging different European styles and serving as valuable teaching pieces. Despite the misleading title, Bach's French Suites are a testament to his compositional genius and continue to be cherished by musicians and audiences alike. The history behind Bach's French Suites is intertwined with a bittersweet period in Bach's life. In May 1720, Bach embarked on a trip, leaving his wife, Maria Barbara, and four children. Tragically, upon his return, he discovered that Maria Barbara had passed away. This loss led to a significant change in Bach's personal life as he became a single father mourning his wife. Despite this tragedy, Bach found love again with Anna Magdalena Wülcken, whom he married. As a gesture of affection and to cultivate her musical skills, Bach composed music for Anna Magdalena, including what would later become the French Suites. These suites were likely performed at court and reflected the couple's intimate musical companionship. The French Suites were not published during Bach's lifetime, possibly because he did not deem it challenging enough. Today, these suites offer an accessible path to Bach's music and are cherished for their stylized dance movements inspired by French and Italian forms.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1106177 Composed by Pierre Leemans. Arranged by James Pybus. 20th Century,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Historic,March. 21 pages. James Pybus #709291. Published by James Pybus (A0.1106177). Pierre Leemans, Dutch: Pieter Leemans, (1897 – 1980) was a Belgian musician and composer. He worked in a variety of genres, including orchestral and choral music, film scores, and songs, but is best known for his marches. The March of the Belgian Paratroopers (Marche des Parachutistes Belges) is especially popular. While Leemans was serving in the Belgian army during World War 1, on a request from his commander he began to write a march, which he did not finish. During World War 2, when the Belgian parachute brigade was formed, he was having dinner with a group of paratroopers and was again asked to compose a march. During one single night Leemans composed this march on themes recalled from his earlier effort. This arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet is suitable for a variety of performance and concert settings. The duration is 2:34. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Once a student has mastered their basic mechanics of the scales, chords and chord functions, it becomes important to become familiar with the normal chord progressions that are used in many of the jazz standards. There are many chord patterns that are repeated over and over again. Being able to recognize them quickly in any key becomes a very valuable tool.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.924181 By Queen. By Freddie Mercury and Frederick Mercury. Arranged by E.Gonzalez. Rock. 22 pages. Gonzalez Music #3532959. Published by Gonzalez Music (A0.924181). Bohemian Rhapsody is a song by the British rock band Queen. It was written by Freddie Mercury for the band's 1975 album A Night at the Opera. It is a six-minute suite,[1] consisting of several sections without a chorus: an intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock part and a reflective coda.[2] The song is a more accessible take on the 1970s progressive rock genre.[3] It was reportedly the most expensive single ever made at the time of its release, although the exact cost of production cannot be determined.[4]When it was released as a single, Bohemian Rhapsody became a commercial success, staying at the top of the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks and selling more than a million copies by the end of January 1976.[5] It reached number one again in 1991 for another five weeks when the same version was re-released following Mercury's death,[6] eventually becoming the UK's third-best-selling single of all time.[7] It is also the only song to be the UK Christmas number one twice by the same artist.[8] It topped the charts in several other markets as well, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and The Netherlands, later becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time selling over 6 million copies worldwide. In the United States, the song originally peaked at number nine in 1976. It returned to the chart at number two in 1992, behind Kris Kross's Jump, and also appeared in the film Wayne's World, which contributed to the revival of its American popularity.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.939376 Composed by Adam Grim. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. 111 pages. Adam B. Grim #6196935. Published by Adam B. Grim (A0.939376). Satellite to Planet Nine is a saxophone quartet inspired by the cosmos surrounding planet Earth. The opening movement, Takeoff, is about the mystery and fear surrounding a possibility of another planet - or black hole - yet to be discovered and the beginning of the journey to find it. The second movement, Hymn for the Moon is dedicated to the closest body of natural rock in our solar system. This movement features the tenor saxophone using a mix of disjunct melodies, smooth jazz, and thick chords to produce a movement of both mysticism and peace as the rocket travels by it. Soca for Saturn is the following movement and is inspired by the Trinidadian popular music known as soca. It is the spark of joy and pure energy that holds the astronauts together as they hold their hopes high traveling to a land that might not even exist at all. The fourth movement depicts the first amount of struggle for the team, Solar Flares, which batter and beat at the crew as they try to find a way through. In the movement the mood is instantly changed with the realization that it is too calm, and soon, meet the purest form of heat and energy. Movement five continues the struggle, but this time with hasty success. Arrival continues where the fourth movement leaves off, but finally they see something in the distance – the planet they have been looking for. They prepare for landing, but with their equipment being nearly destroyed from the solar flares it is not smooth landing. In the final movement, New Gravity, the team ventures out into the new world, which is dark and barren. They feel a disturbing presence around them, and as they search further and further into the cold and dusty landscape, they realize what they are up against – survival. Using what they know, they build on their wreckage and create a new home - The Satellite to Planet Nine.
