Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1029619 Composed by Ross Fengfish. Arranged by Ross Fengfish. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. Score. 3 pages. Ross Fengfish #5286499. Published by Ross Fengfish (A0.1029619). My imagery for this was an open plain, or open range. While listening picture a open field in the mid-west with cows grazing along the horizon. A cool breeze and birds flying over head.Take your time with this piece. Nothing to rush. Keep a light touch and try and create a movement of wind.Hope you enjoy playing this little piece as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Flute,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.800442 Composed by Sarah Wallin Huff. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 29 pages. Novel Soundtrax #6360871. Published by Novel Soundtrax (A0.800442). Composed during the worldwide Covid-19 lockdowns of 2020, this fierce work for violin, viola, and flute illustrates the need during such times to unleash pent-up frustrations, fear, sorrow, and anger. The incessant, rapid rhythms and violent articulations don’t seem to find relief until a point in the middle of the work, when the realization hits that there is nothing to be done except to collapse on our living room couches, to “shelter in placeâ€, and wait for the return to “normal†that never seems to come. Thus, locked in a state of restlessness, this musical work builds again to the frenzied madness of the beginning only to end with a rush of “hands thrown into the airâ€.

Piano Quartet Cello,Piano,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1404728 Composed by Terry Vosbein. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical. 57 pages. Max Frank Music #987795. Published by Max Frank Music (A0.1404728). “Parallel Tracks†was primarily inspired by a ten day train trip, from the heart of Virginia to the far west and back. It is not necessarily a narrative of that journey. Rather, it is a collage of sensations, taking in the sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings of the voyage. Much like the views through the train windows, the musical vistas of this work change rapidly. There are rolling fertile plains, deep river valleys, and jagged mountainous peaks. The train passes through some of the nations’s larg- est cities and some of its tiniest bergs, crosses some of the oldest and newest mountain ranges in the country. There are tunnels and trestles, forests, farms, and prairies. It is incredibly calm yet delightfully exciting. There is something elegant about spending an extended period crossing the country in an Amtrak roomette. On such trains as the Cardinal, the Empire Builder, the Coast Starlight, and the Califor- nia Zephyr, it feels as if one is stepping into the past. Nothing is rushed. Fine dining, spectacular views, riveting conversations with strangers. The grandeur of the mighty stations, such as Union Station in Chicago. And the humble beauty of the smaller stops like Staunton, Virginia, my starting and ending point. The perpetual motion of train travel is unique. The movement can feel smooth at times and bone rattling just a few minutes later. It can be a quiet purr or the sound of grating metal. And yet the gentle sway can envelop one like a blanket, enticing deep sleep throughout the night. Waking to pastries and coffee while rolling across the countryside is divine. And elegant.“Parallel Tracks†begins with a sound of forward motion put forth by the piano. Smooth and easy. Plucked strings ride on top of the steady piano pad as the chain of cars passes effortlessly through fields. As the cello presents the first theme, a more strident feeling is revealed and explored, driv- ing the engine toward its dramatic destinations. The first climax gives way to a playful scherzo-like section, the elegance of the journey on full display. The return of the first theme at a more majestic tempo announces that the voyage’s terminus is near. The parallel tracks on which a train glides are always a fixed distance and never cross. The parallel tracks of life are not so bound by mathematics. There is something more fluid when the tracks are allowed to cross. The string section and the piano each create their own track in this composition, frequently squaring off. At times it is if they are on the same train but sitting in opposite directions and on the opposite side of the car. There are moments that even sound as if they are proceeding at two different speeds. But their tracks are never too divergent, never really out of sync. And both arrive at the final stop together.

Mysterious Moment for alto flute and string trio

String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576736 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. David Warin Solomons #119391. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576736). Mysterious piece in octatonic mode, originally written for the short story The Door The pdf file contains score and parts. The sound sample is an electronic preview. High up on the grassy hill behind the town there is a door. It stands there in its frame with nothing before or behind it. It is locked shut. There is no key. We climb the hill each day. We play each side of the door, games of hide and seek. But we cannot go through the door. Each day we go there during this long sultry summer holiday. We are fascinated by the structure. Why would anyone put a door up there, in its frame, eternally locked, with nothing before or behind it? Maybe it is all that remains of an ancient house? We play, we wonder, we laugh and play, and we return regularly to our homes in time for tea. Then, one day, as we climb the hill for the umpteenth time, a lady dressed in white arrives before us. We watch her take the key out of her bag and insert it in the lock. We are too far downhill to catch up before she closes the door behind her. As we arrive, puffing and panting, Steve knocks on the door. No answer. Dave knocks on the door more forcefully. We hear a distant swish of robes. Gloria knocks, perhaps a little more timidly as the swishing sound approaches. Estelle begins to knock in her turn and the door suddenly opens wide. We all gasp as we see the lady standing there in glistening robes. Her face is hidden from view by a white shawl, but her piercing eyes still show. Children, she says, welcome all. Do come in, please, the kettle is on. You are just in time for tea. We hesitate, as well we might. How can we come in when there is nothing before or behind the door? But Estelle puts one foot inside and looks back at us with a curious expression of serenity on her face. We follow her. We look around at the new space beyond the door and at the parquet floor beneath our dew-soaked feet. As our eyes become accustomed to the brightness of the interior we catch sight of many signs of the world we have entered, but only fleetingly. They pass before our eyes in an instant and then flee beyond the range of sight. There is a staircase, a hat stand, a distant gleam of an ancient cooker, a faint whiff of scones and boiling jam. As we walk inside, our senses are overwhelmed with the new reality, we are rooted to the spot. Do please sit down, says the lady with a slight catch in her throat. We are seated on wooden chairs along one side of an oak table, although we cannot recall how we got there, some slip of the memory perhaps. We have no sense of foreboding, Estelle's serenity has passed to all of us. We can stay here eating scones and jam until the end of time. The lady removes her shawl and reveals a face as beautiful as anyone's mother's. Her deep black eyes glisten like obsidian. She beams a smile of welcome and pours the tea. I'm glad you have come. I've been expecting you, she begins. You must have a thousand questions, so do please ask away. Well, says Steve, what is this door that we passed through? Is this another world? There is no other world, the lady replies, this is the only one. But there is! There is! starts Dave excitedly, Look!. He gets up quickly from the chair, knocking it over in his haste and rushes to the door to open it. He pulls at it with all his force and reveals a black nothingness behind it. We were on the hill, where's it gone? he shouts, what have you done to it? There is no hill. But you climbed the hill in front of us says Gloria. There is no hill. Even Estelle of the serene demeanour is beginning to look worried. How did we get here then, how did you get here, she asks the lady nervously. We have all been here since the beginning of time, the catch in the lady's throat is becoming more evident. No, we have our families down there in the town cries Estelle You have no families,.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.991481 Composed by Michelangelo Rodriguez. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 108 pages. Michelangelo Rodriguez Music #2968035. Published by Michelangelo Rodriguez Music (A0.991481). Program Note: Affects, written in 2016, is a piece for string quartet that depicts the human emotions of grief, fear, anger, and sadness. Grief is a moderate paced movement where the different instruments respond to the loss of bond and affection in the human condition. Fear begins with a solo cello line that experiments with tonality. Each instrument is introduced with the same line, essentially building up the tension and confusion that is caused when humans exhibit fear. Anger uses a quick, rushed tempo similar to the fast, exerted force that is caused when humans express anger. Often, humans find themselves acting before they think, which is how the instruments interact with each other in this movement. The string quartet culminates in a slow, brooding movement, Sadness, where the themes are exhibited and built upon in a contrapuntal motion. Humans express sadness with misery, which is shown in the heavy lines of the instruments. The piece ends with a sense of hope, only to be crushed with the sadness that everyone eventually experiences, fading away into nothingness. A Cappella,Barbershop,Multicultural,World. Octavo. 8 pages. Jay Dougherty #116003. Published by Jay Dougherty (A0.504042). This whimsical piece by Philippine composer/performer Ryan Cayabyab praises the coconut palm tree and its many uses while continually reminding us that the coconut is NOT a nut! This arrangement by Jay Dougherty will steal the hearts of your audience and make them want to dance along. It is written for 4 part treble voices (or quartet) and solo (five total voice parts). While most arrangements of this song are in 8 or more parts, this version has been parsed down to make it more accessible to groups needing fewer parts.NOTE: There is a 10-copy minimum purchase. However, the per-copy price is set to the lowest possible setting at $1.99. If you want this song with one one a part (quartet plus solo), please understand that with the 10-copy minimum (10 x $1.99), you're still paying only $20 for legal access to this music. Organ - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024970 Composed by Simon M. Sperl. 20th Century,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 6 pages. Sperl Publishing #3688955. Published by Sperl Publishing (A0.1024970). Capriccio No. 1 for Organ is a reverent and meditative piece written by Minnesota composer Simon Sperl (SimonSperl.com). The piece is a discussion about the Zen symbol ensÅ. The ensÅ is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express the present moment. It can symbolize absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and/or mu (the void or not; nothing). Sperl uses a repeated figure of a portion of the circle of fifths to represent this circle. The meditative quality of the music is meant to help the listener find peace and the eternal now.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1131891 Composed by Amy Lee. Arranged by Jay Dougherty. A Cappella,Contemporary,Rock. Octavo. 12 pages. Jay Dougherty #732125. Published by Jay Dougherty (A0.1131891). Amy Lee's vocal-crushing masterpiece, Good Enough, is featured here as a six-part contemporary a cappella arrangement (SAATB plus solo). The repetitive nature of the vocal rhythms make for an easily executable arrangement if you have a soloist that is good for the part.NOTE: There is a 10-copy minimum purchase. However, the per-copy price is set to the lowest possible setting at $1.99. If have only one on a part, please understand that with the 10-copy minimum (10 x $1.99), you're still paying only $20 for legal access to this music. The arranger gets nearly nothing, and you're getting great legal music for $3.33 per singer. If your ensemble is larger than 10, please purchase enough legal copies for each singer.Learning tracks are available at: www.NewVoice.studioFor more information on arrangements and compositions by Jay Dougherty, visit www.jmdougherty.com.

Alto Voice,Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1387471 By András Csáki (guitar) and Bernadett Nagy (alto). By David Warin Solomons. Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 167. David Warin Solomons #971325. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1387471). This setting of Paul Verlaine's poem Nevermore plays on an ambiguity of major and minor modes, swaying back and forth between the tonal centres of G minor and E flat majorThe poem and English translation are as follows:Nevermore  Souvenir, souvenir, que me veux-tu? AutumnDrove the thrush up through the atonic airAnd the pale sun pierced in monotoneThe chill and windy woods and the leaf flare.Together but alone we went our ways,Hair blown awry and monad thoughts unfurled.Sudden she turned to me her tender gaze:What was your finest day? - a voice of gold,Dulcet and low, ineffable and fresh. And I said nothing, offered her a smile,Seized her pale hand and pressed a kiss.Ah those first flowers of spring how sweet they were,And that first whispered Yes, how it beguiled,Won from those lovely lips with gentle murmur.(c) S N Solomons.

ISBN 9781619114296. This book features over 100 traditional American folk songs newly arranged for the ukulele, with chord diagrams and melody lines in tablature and standard notation. This extensive collection makes "Favorite Old-Time American Songs for Ukulele" a treasury of the best songs from the American tradition.Nothing in this book is out of range for novice ukulele players. The songs are in keys that are both easy to sing and that fit the melodic range of the ukulele. Of course, not every voice sings comfortably in every key, so information on transposition and a short discussion for players of the baritone ukulele are included. Although you do not need to read music or tablature to use this book, short introductions to each are included. In putting together this collection, the author was inspired by the old American practice of making a sampler: an endearing needlework design showing off various stitches and techniques. The book presents a sampling of the best American songs for folks working in schools, churches, hospitals, coffeehouses and other public performance spaces, or for anyone wishing to expand their repertoire and brush up on a few old chestnuts. There's a little of everything here: sentimental old hearth songs, laments and lullabies, ballads and play-parties, the sacred and profane. The overwhelming majority of songs come from pre-industrial rural traditions, because this is the kind of music that seems to go well with homemade music-making in any age. Downloadable audio of 18 of the songs is available online.
