Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.495192 Composed by Moises Mendoza. Contemporary. Score and parts. 67 pages. Published by Moises Mendoza (A0.495192). I composed this piece because I wanted to get myself used to composing for large ensembles, wind ensemble particularly. This composition took the most time and energy in creating the biggest work I have taken on thus far. This piece allowed me to get a better insight of my creativity as well as incorporate the lessons I have learned from my music professors. The experience was well worth it for I now know what I am capable of in my compositions and I look forward to working on more works in large ensembles in the future. During the time I composed this piece, I was expecting to have it performed around April 2020. However, that was around the time when COVID started spreading around the world and so that experience was lost to me. I hope someday it will be performed under better days.

Flute Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018922 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 4 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6072947. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018922). Fugue: Wear Pearls and Smile is, on the outset, a fast, rambunctious adventure for many voices playing at the same time. It was conceived as a pairing for the equally vivacious second symphony of Ludwig van Beethovenâhis 250th birthday is this yearâbut can stand on its own as one of my hardest, most challenging works to cook up.This piece is dedicated to those forced to appear positive when internally theyâre falling apart. The title is inspired by a quote thatâs been with me for a while, Why is it that men can be bastards and women must wear pearls and smile? by Lynn Hecht Schafren, the celebrated American jurist famous for campaigning for gender equity in courts. Iâm taking the quote out of its initial context, but the power of that quote, for me, exemplifies how hard it is to maintain a sense of emotional decorum and dignity when youâre authentically a hot mess. And whatâs more of a musical hot mess than a fugue? There are two realities to this piece. Iâll quote Dmitri Shostakovich, from his autobiography: The rejoicing is forced, created under threat, [â¦] Itâs as if someone were beating you with a stick and saying, âYour business is rejoicing, your business is rejoicing,â and you rise, shaky, and go marching off, muttering âOur business is rejoicing, our business is rejoicing.â On the one hand, it is insincere happiness, cloying perhaps. But the other truth, Iâll quote Oscar Hammerstein II, from The King and I: While shivering in my shoes / I strike a careless pose / And whistle a happy tune / And no one ever knows, / I'm afraid. I forced myself, against all impulses of my current being, to forge happiness. This piece, with its origin being a mental puzzle (fugues are puzzles), it became a construct where I could lift myself up and regain a sense of purpose. Therefore, it is inventedâout of a literal need to surviveâpure, genuine happiness.Future Performances: If you are interested in performing this work, please e-mail me.ABOUT THE COMPOSER: Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Since developing a fiercely independent creative voice upon the completion of his studies at Western (2010) and McGill Universities (2013), he continues to find inspiration from the intersection of mythology, art, and nature upon the contemporary human experience. In 2019, he released his premiere album of original music, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings , with support from the Ontario Arts Council. He is a member of SOCAN and the League of Canadian Composers.

Viola Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018938 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 5 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6072979. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018938). Music, arranging and production by Jon Burr The Lyric:Everything was fine, not so very long ago.I had a weekly paycheck, I was rolling in the dough.I had a truck, got me where I needed to go.I didnât know how much I had, âtil things began to blow.Everything was fine, then my tire picked up a tack. The rubber was so thin, you see, it really set me back.âWhatâs the problem now?â was all my boss would say,Gave me my last paycheck, and sent me on my wayâ¦So, here I am remembering, not so long ago,I had a weekly paycheck, I was rolling in the dough.I had my pick-up truck back then, had a shirt. and had a wife.I didnât know how little I had because, well, that was life.Sleeping in my pick-up truck, the light began to dawn.I would go back home, before my last chance was blown.I would tell my loving folks, at last I saw the light, My prospects didnât look so good, my future, none too bright.Could they start me off again, with tuition and the such, andhelp me get a-brand new tire, for my raggedy olâ truck? If they could be so kind, as to set me on my way, I would do my very best, their kindness to repayConsider the military, said my folks, sounding wisethey told me I need extra time, didnât mean to criticizeMaybe they were onto something, maybe that could helpWhy, oh, why didnât I think of that myself?Military lifeâs not easy, as I learned from the start, but I came out much the better, and learned to have some heart.Well, Iâm that better man now, after going through all this. Finally got my life in shape, it had been so amiss.I repaid my folksâ advice, as I promised that I would,Became the son they hoped for, the man they knew I could. We often go to see them, and they visit the wife and me,Now theyâre contented grandfolks, with babies on each knee!Once upon a time, when I was really stuck, I went back home to see the folks, which became a day of luck.Military service, Iâm glad I took it up.Life changed for me, when I stopped sleeping in that olâ truck.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1205194 Composed by M.Y Owusu. Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. M.Y Owusu #803377. Published by M.Y Owusu (A0.1205194). Aphelion is one of my few pieces that's meant to tell a story and it's not incredibly specific, but here is the story of Aphelion. However, the definition of aphelion first is incredibly important.aphelion (noun):the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the sun.And it's very important to know the definition of its absolute antonym: perihelion.perihelion (noun):the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is closest to the sun. These are terms used in astronomy to describe a celestial object's extreme distance from the sun. I'm using this to describe a relationship between two people. The type of relationship does not matter, it is simply just a relationship. However, you perceive it: platonic, romantic, etc. That is up to your interpretation.Aphelion follows the story of two people, with the start of the piece not actually being the aphelion, but however the perihelion, starting in D Major. It highlights their relationship as perfect, well-rounded, and flawless relationship. Some may call it a honeymoon era/phase or just the possible closest two people could be, i.e the perihelion. Then the two slowly drift away, with a shift to B Minor and D Minor. Issues, flaws, and problems that weren't there before begin to appear. These issues are quickly shoved under the rug, and the two pretend that they are nonexistent. The piece shifts back to D major incredibly quickly, however, there is a slight sense of uneasiness within the piece that I intended to create as it goes through this relationship that is clearly rocky, but it isn't being addressed because neither are choosing to communicate these issues. Then, the mysterious part hits very quickly, this is the aphelion. following a D Minor chord progression, then a shift into D minor itself. This part is where the relationship issues reach a boiling point, neither can stand the other and any attempt to resolve the issues is essentially useless. They stay in a toxic relationship. However, it's labeled as mysterious because the future is an absolute mystery to the two. They don't know what will happen. Then, one confronts the other, they choose to genuinely communicate. It's where the shift back to D Major occurs. They finally come to an understanding. At this point, they can choose to stay in the relationship, and work on the issues, or come to an understanding that it might not work from here, because a relationship takes two. There is a sense of peace, they are finally at peace with one another and their situation. Life can continue moving on, and the piece ends on an A Major chord. This is because A Major can be interpreted as one finally becoming content. That is the story that I intended to tell by writing Aphelion.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912632 Composed by Johnson Lee. Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. Johnson lee #1920997. Published by johnson lee (A0.912632). This tune was premiered at the funeral of the first Prime Minister of Singapore Mr Lee Kuan Yew. This tune pays tribute to the people who have made contributions to this world. Their sacrifice and generosity have enriched us. Their love and spirit is passed on to the future and their example for us to follow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lJP6M6klPkRemarks from my friend Samantha Tang:I like the first half and very last part. Last Part is like a link back to the beginning, like a you went round a full circle, depicting life cycle. Beginning Part is is soothing and gradual; Somewhat like a child starting his life. It builds up and peak like a peak of one's life or career. There is one part I like, sounded like a mix of regrets and acceptance. When I listen to this piece of music, the word reflections comes to my mind. The second half that sounded bold reminds me of part of one's life where he was leading at his best. Its a peaceful Song with a lot of emotions that developed progressively.Samantha showed this video to a boy with Autism and he calmed down. I was told that the usual Mozart music does not calm him down anymore and he paid no interest. I like the first half and very last part. SATB chorus divisi - Digital Download SKU: BJ.1231 Composed by Enrico Miaroma. Secular. Octavo. 16 pages. Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital #1231. Published by Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital (BJ.1231). 8.27 x 11.7 inches.Contents:My song FarewellTwo compositions to lyrics by Indian Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore: My Song and Farewell. Enrico Miaroma, Italian composer and choral conductor, writes about the pieces: Farewell was composed in 2011 for a youth choir of 45 young adults, working and having fun together in Arco (Trentino), for one marvellous week together with Gary Graden and myself. My aim was to compose a piece that young choristers would appreciate after intense and joyful days together. Through my music I wanted to share the range of emotions and the hardship of parting when they were to go home to their native countries again. The choice of such a beautiful and evocative text helped me a great deal to achieve this. Farewell is recorded by S:t Jacobs Chamber Choir and Gary Graden on the cd To the Field of Stars (Footprint Records FRCD 083). My Song is like a little brother to Farewell. From the very beginning, I had a strong feeling that the assonance between the words of the title, 'my song', and 'my son', was intended by the poet. Throughout the composing process, this kept coming back to me, bringing my little son, Giovanni, who is four years old, to mind. I would like My song to be a gift from a father to his son, for his future life: 'This song of mine, my child, will wind its music around you'.John Quinn, MusicWeb International on Enrico Miaroma and Farewell: The choral writing is rich and he harnesses the emotions in the text most effectively. It's an eloquent piece, very well written for voices and it conveys well, I think, some of the emotions of valediction, including dignity..

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.943107 Composed by Paul V. Safar. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Paul Safar #4335231. Published by Paul Safar (A0.943107). This short piano piece was written for my daughterâs high school graduation. The musical seed of it came from a sweet little fatherâs day gift she made for me back in elementary school that had four random musical pitches on it. I used those pitches as the starting point for the piece. I hoped to convey a sense of demarcation of a new time in ones life as well as the open ended quality of ones future. Iâm happy to share this piece for others to use on similar occasions.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1101579 By System of a Down. By Daron Malakian and Serj Tankian. Arranged by Moshe Gordon Radian. A Cappella,Rock. Octavo. 83 pages. Moshe Gordon Radian #704933. Published by Moshe Gordon Radian (A0.1101579). An a cappella arrangement of System Of A Down's Radio/Videoâa track from the album Mezmerize. I've been recording improvised a cappella arrangements of songs since high school as a hobby, originally dubbing them as demos to entice friends from my high school's choir to join and record the full parts. I originally recorded Radio/Video in 2012, years after high school, having the crazy idea of trying to arrange a metal song, without being able to scream. I did a decent job and uploaded it to YouTube and forgot about it for years (intense university and startup years). During one of the Covid lockdowns, I was browsing an a cappella Facebook group and came across Noa Gruman's YouTube video doc on choirs during Covid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86IHL4FWUu8), and through it, I discovered the Hellscore choir (https://www.youtube.com/hellscoreacappella), an Israeli metal a cappella group. After starting a new job, I've decided to support various creators I've been following, including Noa - and discovered the option to have monthly sessions with her by supporting her through Patreon. After discussing some vocal techniques, I asked Noa if she would be willing to listen to and comment on my old metal arrangement, to which she agreed. Rather than just doing that, I rerecorded a new version of the arrangement, with new ideas and taking advantage of some improved vocal techniques. Noa gave me a very useful critique but suggested that it would be more efficient to also put the arrangement down in musical notation. And so, for the first time in my life, I sat down to actually write a musical arrangement. This piece is the result of this months-long process, which is itself born of a decade old project of mine. I would be excited to have you perform this arrangement with a full choirâI would love to hear the result! I will be re-recording it myself in the near future. I sincerely hope you'll enjoy this piece.
