Both of these works for two oboes and cor anglais which Beethoven composed in the 1790s belong to the lighter genre of serenades and divertimentos. He might have written them in response to a commission or have been inspired bythe prevailing popularity of this delicate combination of instruments.Likewise with the Variations WoO 28 on the famous theme 'La ci darem la mano' by Mozart he made a contribution of his own to the arrangements ofoperatic melodies for wind ensembles that were so popular at the time.This Urtext edition follows the recently published volume in the Beethoven Complete Edition and thus reflects the latest scholarly research onBeethoven.

Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827) remains one of the most influential composers ever to have lived. His Op. 87 Trio originally composed for two Oboes and Cor Anglais in 1795 is sublimely arranged for Brass instruments by Robert King. Beethoven's Trio was originally composed in C major and has since been arranged for a variety of instrumentations. King's arrangement is intended for Trumpet Horn or Trumpet and Baritone Trombone or Horn. The Trio is made up of four movements; 1) Allegro 2) Adagio Cantabile 3) Menuetto and 4) Finale. Maria Inês Guimarães a commencé ses études avec Odette Camargos à Uberaba, Minas Gerais et à São Paulo a travaillé avec Eudóxia de Barros et Rafael dos Santos. Elle a aussi suivi les masters classes de Magdalena Tagliaferro. Elle a suivi des formations avec les musiciens de jazz et musiques improvisées Jean Marie Machado et Bruno Wilhelm.
Depuis le début de sa carrière, Maria Inês Guimarães consacre toujours une partie de ses programmes de concerts à la musique brésilienne tant traditionnelle que classique. Que ce soit au Brésil ou ailleurs, Bach, Beethoven, Fauré et Kurtág côtoient ainsi Nazareth, Mignone, Abreu, Villa-Lobos et Antunes.
Avec son groupe Ilustrando o CHORO, composé d'un piano, flûte, basse et de percussions brésiliennes, elle maintient bien vivante la tradition du Chorinho qui est plus que centenaire.
En France depuis 1988, Maria Inês Guimarães a travaillé avec Anna Stella Schic et Françoise Parrot-Hanlet. Elle a soutenu en décembre 1996, sous la direction d?Edith Weber, une thèse de doctorat en Histoire de la Musique et Musicologie (Sorbonne-Paris IV), grâce à une bourse du gouvernement brésilien, qui lui a permis d'étudier l'oeuvre du compositeur Lobo de Mesquita (1746-1805). Sa thèse a été publiée par les Presses Universitaires du Septentrion en 1997.
L'improvisation libre étant une de ses passions Maria Inês Guimarães fonde en 2004 le Duo Asymétrie avec la percussioniste brésilienne Brenda Ohana et en 2007 le Trio Wilhelm-Guimarães-Mendy avec Bruno Wilhelm et Paul Mindy. Elle est membre fondateur du groupe L?attachement des Bobines formé en 2006. Avec ses trois formations elle travaille sur la composition dans l?instant, née de l?écoute mutuelle et de la recherche de l?unité en utilisant différents aspects de la matière sonore. La publication d'articles ainsi que de partitions et le poste de professeur titulaire au Conservatoire d'Antony, complètent l'activité de musicienne de Maria Inês Guimarães qui a enregistré 10 disques en tant qu'interprète, compositeur et musicologue.

Martino Bitti wrote numerous sonatas for violin and basso continuo as well as pieces for flute and oboe and several compositions for harpsichord. This C minor oboe sonata in four movements appears to have been preserved solely in manuscript form and appears here in print for the first time.The edition is part of the ABRSM syllabus (grade 6)

This title is taken from Dvorak. However. The models from which the songs are derived are clearly identifiable as are the composers from whose language they have been derived. The piece appears to be in one movement though it is in fact two with a coda. The first is French in style a sort of Waltz. It is quick and harks upon the likes of Françaix and where its idiom becomes more advanced Messaien. The other is Germanic a slow movement with echoes of German expressionism - perhaps Richard Strauss perhaps Mahler. The two movements are partly complete; the cod reconciles their differences and completes them. I see the piece as my own version of En blanc et noir.

Concerto In D Minor Op.9 No.2 is a beautiful work composed by Tomaso Albinoni (1674-1745) and has been arranged here for Oboe with Piano reduction by Remo Giazotto. The solo oboe part is also included on a separateinsert.
