Gives the aspiring saxophonists practice in the kind of musical partnership required by chamber music Béla Bartók (1881-1945) composed his 44 Duos for Two Violins in 1931. These unique musical miniatures combine folk melodies from Eastern Europe with the musical language of the twentieth century in an exciting blend of tradition and modernity. For the present sheet music twenty of these duos for saxophones (of the same pitch) were arranged. The pieces allow players to share the pleasure of chamber music while exploring this fascinating sound world. On alto saxophones, most of the duets sound in the original keys (Nos. 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 16, 17). Mit 12 Jahren begann er Horn zu spielen sowie erste Stücke zu komponieren. Sein Studium als Hornist absolvierte er am Leopold Mozart-Konservatorium in Augsburg. 1986 wurde er Hornist an der Staatsoper Nürnberg, 1991 wechselte er zum Münchner Rundfunkorchester. Kompositorisch ist Franz Kanefzky in vielen Genres heimisch: Kammermusikalische Werke, Chorstücke und Instrumentalkonzerte gehören ebenso zu seinem Schaffen, wie Schauspielmusiken oder Brass Sinfonien. Er schrieb Auftragswerke unter anderem für den Bayerischen Rundfunk, das Bayerische Staatsorchester und 'Die Bühne' Nürnberg. / 2 Saxophones
