The Incredible Adventure of Jerrie Mocke. In 1964, the American aviator Jerrie Mock was the first woman to fly solo around the world, in spite of her critics and the bad weather forecasted. She completed this journey in 29 days on board the ?Spirit of Columbus?, a single engine Cessna. This story inspired Marc Jeanbourquin. The aviator?s determined nature appears from the very first bars, reflecting her mood before take-off. The hymn that follows illustrates the beginning of the flight, when all is going well. This leads to a calmer section, as if the aviator was letting herself be carried by the air currents above the clouds, lost in her thoughts. Then a more energetic passage brings her back inside the cockpit to confront the bad weather she encounters. She overcomes these difficulties to appear out of the clouds before a cheerful finale, as if nearing the finishing line. Welcome aboard for a flight around the world! First prize in the composition competition of the Swiss Music Association (Contest music 4th category 2020).

Par RAMEAU JEAN-PHILIPPE. Richer than ever  RameauÂs ÂZoroastre in the version of 1756. Opera in five acts. RameauÂs revised version of his opera ÂZoroastreÂ, which could be heard and seen between 20 January 1756 and 26 March 1757 at the AcadĂ©mie royale de musique, was favourably received. Also from todayÂs point of view the work profits dramaturgically from many of the changes and seems altogether richer and more tightly woven than the original of 1749. The subject matter of the libretto, derived from Ancient Persian sources, is timeless: the struggle between good and bad. The good is embodied by the religious reformer Zoroastre, a representative of the supreme light being Orosmade. He is opposed by the ambitious magician Abramane who serves Ariman, the spirit of the dark. The opera includes some of RameauÂs most ecstatic and spiritual musical numbers, such as the episode of sun worship in Act 3 with the sublime ÂHymne Ă la LumiĂšreÂ, which, for unknown reasons, was not integrated in the revision of 1756. It is therefore included in Appendix 3 of this BĂ€renreiter edition. Incidentally, with ÂZoroastre the prologue, wh ich had been customary since the beginnings of French opera in the 1670s, was abandoned. Instead Rameau was the first to introduce an overture which set the scene for the entire drama and thereby anticipated GluckÂs opera reform by many years. Here we present the instrumental numbers for concert performance. - Based on the first scholarly-critical edition, published as part of ÂOpera Omnia Rameau - Instrumental numbers in order of performance, but also grouped by key in the list of contents, enabling them to be combined freely into orchestral suites - Published with performance material on hire / Date parution : 2022-11-08/ RĂ©pertoire / Orchestre

In some European Christmas traditions, Saint Nick (Santa Claus) does not work alone. He travels with the 'Krampus,' a 'Christmas Devil' who doles out punishment to bad boys and girls on Christmas Eve. This work serves as a darkly delightful Christmas piece, intended to educate, entertain, and creep out your audience. The poem 'Beware the Krampus' (written by the composer) helps frame the piece as familiar carols 'The Ukranian Bell Carol,' 'Up on the Housetop,' 'Jolly Old St. Nicholas,' and other holiday favorites are distorted.
