Companion CD to the Songbook-This companion CD will assist harp players in learning the pieces in the 52 Scottish Songs for All Harps book. Since many will want to ?play along? as they learn Sylvia has recorded most of the pieces slowerthan they are usually played and as ?straight? as possible with little or no expression or rhythmic variations. Each piece has two arrangements: (A) an easy version and (B) one that is more difficult. On theserecordings Sylvia plays version A directly followed by version B. Since the two versions can be played as a duet you can play either version along with the recording. The companion CD includes all the pieces from the book and inthe same order.

The original version for solo soprano and SATB choir appeared on PatrickĆ¢??s debut album Blue in Blue. It was subsequently recorded by Hayley Westenra for her Number-One-selling album Odyssey and in 2014 by Voces8 choir to produce a version for them which featured on their Number-One-selling album Eventide. Arranged here for lever harp from the piano version by Elinor Evans the music reflects the heartfelt longing for the joys of heaven a happiness to be shared in a future moment of meeting expressed in the words.

The title refers to the poetic stanzas but also to invisible spaces to be inhabited with the mind. One day my friend Cecilia Chailly calls me and asks me if I have a harp piece for her to play. I give her Vega to try. Two days later I go to her house to listen and, with mutual enthusiasm, I give her all the pieces that we will soon be recording. Cecilia will perform them in concert on various and memorable occasions. Here, I would like to express my profound thanks for her heartfelt help in correcting this new harp edition. (L. Einaudi)

pour deux harpes-French harpist composer and teacher Marcel Tournier (1879-1951) wrote important repertoire for the Harp which expanded the harmonic and technical possibilities of the instrument. His Four Preludes for Two Harps is no exception. Published in 1921 Four Preludes is still performed and recorded by harpists. The first volume comprises the first two preludes in which tonality and rhythm are sublimely experimented with as well as uses of harmonics. Tournier's Four Preludes is suitable for all intermediate to advanced Harp duets seeking to explore varied repertoire on the instrument.

Arranged for Harp-Say Something is an original song by the American duo A Great Big World. The lyrics are about letting go when a relationship ends. It became an international hit when Christina Aguilera joined A Great Big World on a re-recorded version in 2013. Sylvia Woods has made a 4-page advanced beginner to intermediate arrangement playable on either lever or pedal harp. This music features a pedal point (also called a pedal note or pedal tone) which is a sustained or continually repeated note that is held constant while harmonies change in other parts. A pedal point is usually found in the bass but here it is in the middle register. Virtually every measure includes a middle Cnote on the downbeat. Sometimes it is played with the right hand and at other times with the left. But it is almost always there. This pedal point harmony is what originally drew me into this beautiful piece of music the first time I heard it on the radio. The music is in the key of C and no sharping levers are required as there are no lever changes. Fingerings lyrics and chord symbols are included. The harp range required is 24 strings from a low C up to an E. It can be played on 24-string to 26-string harps with a C as the lowest string if you play both hands an octave higher than written.
