Par DVORAK ANTONIN. À l?été 1879, Dvorák coucha relativement vite sur papier le concerto demandé par son éditeur, mais ensuite, son achèvement dut attendre jusqu?en 1882. Il montra la partie de violon au célèbre violoniste virtuose Joseph Joachim, qui était d?ailleurs le dédicataire de l??uvre. De nombreux remaniements s?ensuivirent. Finalement, Joachim se désintéressa de l??uvre, si bien que la création en fut reprise par le violoniste tchèque Franti?ek Ondrícek. Cette ?uvre à la forme inhabituelle, qui commence et se termine par un rondo de sonate, est entièrement maintenue dans un caractère slave. Après le lyrisme du mouvement central, l??uvre se termine par des rythmes de danses tchèques. Cette édition Urtext est fondée certes sur les premières éditions de la partition, de la partie de soliste et de la réduction pour piano, mais aussi sur le manuscrit autographe. Les indications concernant la partie de soliste ont été confiées à la star du violon Augustin Hadelich, qui est actuellement l?un des meilleurs connaisseurs de l??uvre. / Date parution : 2023-03-11/ Répertoire / Violon et Piano

Par DVORAK ANTONIN. On 18 January 1887 Antonín Dvorák (1841–1904) started composing his Romantic Pieces for violin and piano, opus 75 (B 150), completing that version on 25 January. They were performed for the first time in a private house two days later, with the composer writing to his publisher in Berlin: ‘Played here yesterday and very well received.’ For this edition reference has been made to a copy of the original manuscript and to the first edition. The small number of bow markings in the violin part of the piano score are original and have been left unaltered. These four contrasting movements are a welcome addition to the violin repertoire and a very effective alternative to Dvorák’s large-scale violin works, the Concerto in A minor and Romance in F minor. / Niveau : Avancé / Répertoire / Violon et Piano

Sonatina In G Op.100 was written in New York in 1893. Scored for Violin and Piano it comprises four movements: Allegro Risoluto - Larghetto (Indian Lament) - Scherzo and Trio: Molto Vivace - Finale:Allegro. It was intended for the composer’s children making the simple melodic lines and unadorned harmonies an accessible favourite of many young violinists.
