Mon Concerto pour orchestre (2007) est une oeuvre de vingt minutes dans laquelle les différentes sections de l'orchestre, ainsi que différents solos et duos du sein de l'orchestre, sont mis en évidence que la musique se déploie. Le travail continue mon intérêt pour les formes à deux mouvement qui a commencé avec mon Concerto pour violoncelle (1991), et plus tard a été développé dans Sortilège (1996) et la Symphonie (Broken Consort) (2004). Dans ces oeuvres, et dans le Concerto pour orchestre, chaque mouvement est le même poids et de l'importance avec le second développement de matériel plus tôt et prendre de nouvelles directions.La forme en deux mouvements du Concerto pour orchestre vient d'une structure symphonique sonate, remodeler la forme en quatre mouvements traditionnels et en combinant cela avec les aspects de la forme sonate, une tradition qui remonte à Liszt, Schoenberg et Sibelius:1er mouvement (i) l'exposition d'idées - dramatique et soudaine (ii) scherzo et développement 1 - résolue2ème mouvement (iii) adagio - calme et tranquille (iv) le développement 2 avec récapitulation - intense et énergiqueLe Concerto pour orchestre a été commandée par le Musikalische Akademie des Nationaltheatre-Orchesters Mannheim avec le soutien de Die Landesbank Baden-Württemberg pour ses deux premières représentations le 31 Mars et 1er Avril 2008 réalisée par Friedemann Layer. The first performance of George Frideric Handel’s oratorio “Messiah” on 13 April 1742 in Dublin aroused unqualified rapture. A newspaper report a few days later declared that it combined “the Sublime, the Grand, and the Tender”. Its success has remained undiminished ever since, and the “Messiah” has taken its place in musical life. In 2009, to mark the 250th anniversary of Handel’s death, the British Library and Bärenreiter joined forces and made the autograph score of the “Messiah” available to the public in a meticulously reproduced, lavishly published facsimile. The renowned Handel scholar Donald Burrows introduces the characteristics of Handel’smanuscript, describes the history of the work’s composition, and explains the differences between later versions of the “Messiah”, as reflected in the conducting scores. A two-page sketch from the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge completes the publication. Haydn's Symphony Hob. I:89 belongs to a group of symphonies composed between the 'Paris? symphonies (Hob. I:82-87) and their 'London? counterparts (Hob. I: 93-104) - the last ones he wrote before his trips to England in 1791-92 and 1794-95. The Symphony in F major is dated 1787 in the autograph score. In this work Haydn borrowed two movements from an earlier piece, possibly owing to deadline pressure. The second and fourth movements are arrangements of movements 2 and 3 from his Concerto in F major Hob. VIIh:5 for two 'lire organizzate? and orchestra. The fact that he also arranged movements from his other lire concertos suggests that he regarded them as a sort of musical quarry. This at least allowed him to recycle parts of these works after his patron had probably prohibited him from offering them commercially.This edition continues the collaboration with the Henle publishing company regarding Haydn's large-scale choral works, operas and symphonies. Haydn's Symphony #26 received its nickname 'Lamentazione? during his lifetime, though it is unclear whether this stems directly from the composer.This work probably originated no later than 1770. Its first and second movements quote excerpts from Gregorian chants used in Holy Week. In order to achieve a uniformly high level of precision in reproduction and authenticity of colour both within a work and for all seven editions, the use of the same technical equipment in all the different places was a prerequisite. Specialist from the Salzburg firm ? Kirchberger Photography? were employed, were provided with the latest equipment by the Packard Humanities Institute and also given special additional training in the modern technology by specialists in the USA. Proofs of each edition were compared with the original in each location and improved until the likeness could not be bettered in all details. Haydn Symphony No.69 in C major (Laudon) (Hob.I:69) (Full Score) Letters of the composer have come down to us only on a few of Haydn’s symphonies, amongst them the “Laudon” Symphony Hob. I:69. In one of these letters, Haydn agrees to the publisher’s suggestion to name the symphony after the widely known and favoured general Gideon Ernst von Laudon (1717-1790). By using this name, both composer and publisher hoped to increase the commercial success of the work which possibly deserved a military eponym considering its instrumentation with timpani and trumpets. Also, the symphony requires two bassoons, but no flutes, corresponding with the available musicians at the court of Esterházy between 1775 and 1776.
