Brødrene James og Adam Price har igennem en årrække begavet det danske kulturliv med alt inden for teater musicals revy og tv-serier. I 1993 startede de med bragende succes en ny trend i Danmark: 'Musicals på dansk' hvor James Price skrev musikken og Adam Price teksterne over forskellige klassikere som: Myten om Tordenskiold Livsens Ondskab (Gustav Wied) Trold kan tæmmes (William Shakespeare) De tre Musketerer (Alexandre Dumas) Myten om Robin Hood og Naboerne (Leif Panduro og Bent Christensen) Såvel tekster som musik spænder meget bredt fra melodrama længsler og drømme over politisk satire tilmoderniserede klassikere om krig og kærlighed både på den historiske verdensscene og i vores egen lille andedam.Alt sammen sat sammen med vid og bid glimt i øjet en overdådig humor samt en overlegen jongleren med genrer og stemninger så publikum i de stopfyldte teatre har både grinet og grædt.. Udsøgte smagsprøver på de såkaldte 'Highlights' kunne meget vel tjene som inspiration til landets teaterdirektører til at tage en eller flere af de nævnte musicals på programmet. Og hæftet rummer mange muligheder for genhør med nogle af stykkernes ørehængere eller endnu bedre: for at synge med til eget akkompagnement. Musical Highlights er forsynet med tekster noder med becifring teaterfotos og handlingsresumeer. Og den tidligere direktør på Gladsaxe Teater Flemming Enevold som satte lavinen i gang med Tordenskiold i 1993 har skrevet bogens sprudlende forord.

Song cycle for medium voice and piano based upon the poetry of Ivor Gurney and Leonard Clark. A set of pieces very much in the English lyrical vocal writing tradition of Butterworth Ireland and of course Gurney.'The Pine Boughs Past Music is a song cycle baseed upon poetry associated with Gloucester and was commissioned to celebrate the eightieth anniversary of the Gloucester Music Society. Having purposefully sought inspiration from a wide array of Gloucester poets from Henley to Harvey I finally found inspiration in the poetry of Ivor Gurney whose work is so saturated with the Gloucestershire landscape. In his poetry Idiscovered the essential element I needed to bind the cycle together: the eternal backdrop of nature upon which the poet's thoughts are played out.It would have been quite easy to conclude the set with another poem by Ivor Gurney. However it was to Leonard Clark I turned.
