POD-This work by Patrick Hawes was inspired by the legend of The Angel of Mons. This is the vocal score for SSA choir with Piano accompaniment. The legend claims that an angel appeared before members of the British Army at the Battle of Mons in World War 1 supposedly protecting them from the enemy. This work is dedicated to the memory of all the British soldiers who witnessed the apparition of the angel. The Angel Of Mons was premiered in its SATB choir version on 23 August 2014 in St Michael & All Angels Church Edenham Lincolnshire and conducted by the composer Patrick Hawes on the exactcentenary of the apparition of the angel. 'Scored for soprano solo SSA choir harp and strings this reworking by the composer of the original SATB version musically accessible and also offering teaching opportunities about WWI is particualrly suitable for good school choirs. Written in an amiable folk style this SAB communion anthem practically sings itself! The attractive tune is easily learned and has beautiful contours. The harp-like accompaniment invites the spirit of worship while the text beckons the faithful to the table of grace. Highly recommended!

Cruel Mother for three voices (SSA) a traditional ballad arranged by Sarah Dacey. Duration: 4 minutes Composed: 2008 Also published as part of UYMP's Songspin Songbook ISMN M 57036 603 3. This is a very old cautionary ballad that like many folk tales has no definite origin there being many different versions from around Europe. I shifted the tonality of the melody from the Cecil Sharp arrangement to something slightly less cheery. First performed by Juice Vocal Ensemble in December 2008 at St. James Piccadilly London.

A Lennon and McCartney classic released at the height of Beatlemania, A Hard Day's Night is the perfect song for choruses seeking those sharp, fizzing '60s harmonies that shine in a vocal ensemble.
