John McCabe's Concerto For Piano And Wind Quintet. Commissioned by the Birmingham Chamber Music Society for first performance by the Venturi Ensemble (Sebastian Bell Philip Jones Roy Jowitt Alan Hammond James Diack and John McCabe) on 21 February 1970.

Oboe Part-John Tavener's Kaleidoscopes is a tribute to Mozart for Solo Oboe Percussion and four String Quartets lasting approximately 30 minutes. The work was commissioned by the Britten Sinfonia and firstperformed by them with soloist Nicholas Daniel on 6th November 2006 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall London. This is the Solo Oboe part. In the composer's note Tavener explains his high regard forMozart and how in Kaleidoscopes he attempts to take Mozart's music and meditate upon it in four main cycles. He states that all the music has its source in Mozart whether it be rhythmic harmonic orcontrapuntal. 

The 48 Studies For Oboe Op.31 by Franz Wilhelm Ferling are presented here in a new edition that has been meticulously edited by Nancy Clauter Professor of Oboe at the University of Kentucky. Ms. Clauter's edition as indicated in her detailed prefatory notes on fingerings takes into account modernisations and upgrades made to the mechanism of the Oboe.This book includes online access to downloadable Piano accompaniments by pianist John Walker. The recordings may be used during practice to make the etudes more enjoyable. As an added bonus the music for these accompaniments is also included as a printable PDF file so that youcan use these studies with a pianist in juries or recitals thereby making this edition even more valuable.

Score and five parts (Flute Oboe Clarinet Bassoon Horn).Moderate level of difficulty.Night on Bald Mountain depicts a witches’ sabbath on St. John’s Day the night between 23 and 24 June. Its sections present the infernal noise of ghostly voices the chattering and quarrelling of witches the appearance of ghosts the dance of witches and demons the appearance of Satan the adoration and Black Mass and finally the pealing bells of the village church announcing the break of day and thus the end of the witches’ sabbath.Whether intentionally or not Mussorgsky actually finished the work on the eve of St. John’s Day (23 June1867) after spending twelve days on its composition. Technically speaking Joachim Linckelmann’s exciting version for Wind Quintet is the arrangement of an arrangement as Mussorgsky’s symphonic poem is almost invariably heard in the familiar version by Rimsky-Korsakov.
