Renowned composer and organist Carolyn Hamlin arranged this gospel style hymn initially penned by Robert Monath. Written for mixed voices with keyboard the lyrics reflect on nature God's loving grace and how we find our own place. It is a very accessible work. Try it on earth day or as a general anthem during much of the year.

SATB Version - Score-The work is based on the Latin Christmas hymn Puer natus in Bethlehem from the 13th century and along the way the German fishing melody Ein Kind geborn zu Bethlehem from the 16th century onwards. The latter can be sung in English German or Danish at will. The work can be sung a cappella or with piano accompaniment (WH33172A). Version for upper voices also available.

A fabulous example of Giovanni Gabrieli’s multi-choir music in which he extends the notion of rhythm and expands tonal colours to create the pulse of the music. In Hodie Christus Natus Est he establishes a remarkable rhythmic counterpoint akin to the swallowing up of rhythms as they mingle and are lost. Note that this is a rather complex piece that will require skilled and disciplined performers to follow their own independent line. This is an ideal choice of material to be used for general festivals or as a rejoiceful Christmas song. This fantastic piece is set for a Double Chorus of Mixed Voices with an Organ accompaniment.
