The Green Willow is a straightforward but rewarding piece for Unison Voices with Piano Accompaniment with traditional lyrics. It was first published in 1926.Dr. J. Frederic Staton (1884-1961)was a British organist composer adjudicator and pedagogue. Born in Yorkshire he was a Parish organist and Choirmaster in Chesterfield from 1899 onwards and also conducted several music societies and orchestras in the 1920s and30s. He was an early examiner for the ABRSM and spent the Second World War in Canada and New Zealand after travelling overseas to examine and adjudicate at Music Festivals. In 1942 he published Sweet Singing In TheChoir a popular handbook of choral technique.
