Similar to Lee Morgan's famous Sidewinder this tune is written in a moderate soul jazz vein. Mark's funky arrangement for 6 horns and rhythm section is sprinkled with stop time breaks and catchy riffs. A fun tune for soloing!

Vocal Feature-A jazz masterpiece arranged for vocal solo and jazz ensemble. This chart is written in two keys to provide maximum flexibility for the vocalist and the band. This straight-ahead swinger also has brief solos for 1st trombone and 2nd trumpet. The low key (female) is C with a range from F below middle C to third line B. The high key (male) is pitched in F with a range from B-flat below middle C to fourth space E. The low-key version also has an optional shout chorus with the ensemble. The Pythodd Club in Rochester New York was where the famed La Barbera brothers were first exposed to real live jazz and the Hammond B3 organ was often a part of these groups.
