Par DUBOIS THEODORE. At just 34 years of age, Theodore Dubois became a professor of harmony at the Paris Conservatoire. Whilst much of his compositional works have disappeared from primary classical repertoire, his teaching has had a lasting influence. Having taught successful composers, including Paul Dukas, it is clear that Dubois' Traite D'Harmonie is well-informed. This music theory study guide covers a considerable range of theoretical aspects, from the varying musical clefs to the use of pedal notes, as well many other harmonic devices with expertise. Ce cahier d'exercices, avec corrections et CD, a pour objectif d'entraîner l'oreille à entendre et distinguer, reconnaitre et différencier les évènements sonores : la pratique de ces exercices facilite l'apprentissage d'une écoute harmonique prédominante. Le cahier débute par des séries d'exercices de reconnaissance, à partir d'une écoute globale et sensorielle, et s'achemine peu à peu vers la pratique de l'écriture du code musical.


Chers collègues, chers apprenants, chers amis...

Dans le processus d'apprentissage il est un écueil que nous avons tous un jour rencontré : comment former une oreille harmonique ?! Bien sûr, il existe bon nombre d'élèves possédant une oreille naturelle et qui se développe sans rencontrer de réelles difficultés... mais les autres ? Tous ceux qui n'ont pas l'habitude de chanter, tous ceux pour qui une hauteur de son ne correspond à rien, et qui paniquent dès qu'ils ont un crayon à la main et une portée vierge devant les yeux ?
C'est en pensant à ces élèves-là que nous avons décidé de proposer une approche plus douce, presque homéopathique à travers un travail au départ uniquement sensoriel puis, au fil des ouvrages, une progression dans le codage jusqu'à aboutir au Saint Graal des musiciens : repiquer un accord en temps réel !
C'est un vaste défi que nous tentons de relever ici, nous en sommes conscientes, tout comme nous savons que d'autres ouvrages pédagogiques ont ouvert la voie avant nous ! Rien n'émerge du néant, et souvent le chemin est emprunté par bon nombre de pédagogues. Aussi, nous vous remercions par avance de tenter l'aventure avec nous...

The close link between songs, prescriptions, recognition and deciphering allows the child to make melodic relationships lastingly aware. The reading is approached in a relative way in the first lessons. The proposed rhythms are played with a sound support.
