Being one of the most influential musicians during the shift from the Renaissance to the Baroque era it is no secret that the composer leant himself primarily to vocal and sacred works. However his Canzon Duodecimi as part of the composer's Sacred Symphony represents an important turn not only in the composer's career but in musical history. Composed in 1597 this piece paved the way towhat would soon become the new Baroque concerto style which remains popular to this day. King's arrangement of this historical work is indispensable for Brass Ensembles and Organ.

Morceau De Lecture For Trombone And Piano-Alexandre Guilmant was one of the greatest representatives of the French Romantic organ school and composed almost exclusively for his instrument.A rare exception is this “Morceau symphonique” written in1902 for the Paris Conservatoire’s annual trombone class competition. The charming piece soon found its way into the repertoire – as did Saint-Saëns’s “Cavatine” (HN 1119) – and is todayamong the essential standard works of trombone literature.The “Morceau symphonique” is here offered in its first-ever Urtext edition based on the autograph and the first edition. We also offer here aparticularly special treat – the sight-reading piece that Guilmant wrote for the same competition which had until now slumbered in the archives and is here published for the very first time.
