Une fois vu qu'ils appellent vous revenir encore et encore. Cette transcription brass band a été faite par Phillip Littlemore et explore les sons chaleureuses et sonores de la fanfare. ' Les Catskills ' est le deuxième mouvement de photos de la côte est, écrite à l'origine de la bande de vent et a été commandée en 1985 par l'orchestre de vent de jeunes britanniques avec des fonds de la National Westminster Bank plc. Ces trois courts ' images ' ont été inspirés par plusieurs visites par le compositeur d'une petite partie de la côte atlantique des Etats-Unis, un secteur qui offre le grands extrêmes dans la géographie et le peuple. Par TORSKANGERPOLL IDAR. This piece was commissioned by Torskangerpoll Musikklag as a massed-band item for their “Storm Festival” in 2016. The “Storm Festival” is a festival for from bands all over Norway with concerts, parades and a lot of fun in the small Western Norway town of Måløy. The music is built around two motifs used throughout the piece. This piece is a good concert-opener or a character piece. Cette oeuvre de Thierry Deleruyelle est basée sur l’un des évènements les plus marquants de l’histoire des mines de charbon : la catastrophe à Courrières, au nord de la France, qui eut lieu le 10 mars 1906. Il s’agit de la plus importante catastropheminière d’Europe et la deuxième de l’histoire mondiale. Cette oeuvre est aussi bien émouvante que spectaculaire, et dépeint la catastrophe en sept sections contrastées. Fraternity était l’oeuvre imposée de la catégorie « Champion » auChampionnat Européen de Brass Band en 2016 à Lille, marquant ainsi les 110 ans de la catastrophe à Courrières. / Niveau : 6 / Répertoire / Brass Band

Par HESKETH KENNETH. In Danceries , by Kenneth Hesketh, the melodies themselves are a mixture of old and new. Where the old occurs it has been adapted in mood and composition and is often interspersed with completely new material. The contemporary harmonies and rhythms bring a breath of new into these themes and add drama to the suite. The first movement, Lull Me Beyond Thee , is gentle and lilting, almost a barcarole, this movement is very much a reverie. The original tune had the name Poor Robin's Maggot , a rather disconcerting title. Maggot, however, in seventeenth-century parlance meant whim or fancy. The second, Catching of Quails , is a colourful, buoyant scherzo on an original melody. The thematic material is shuttled around the band to contrast with full-blooded tuttis. The last few bars fade to almost nothing, before a final surprise! My Lady's Rest is a tender pavane, also on an original melody, with Moorish leanings. Beautiful solo passages, expressive contrapuntal writing and warm tuttis provide an opportunity to show off the most lyrical of playing. The final movement, Quodling's Delight is a clever combination of the 17th century melody, Goddesses , with an original contrasting melody, creating a rousing and exuberant finale to the work. / Niveau : Assez Facile / Répertoire / Brass Band
