Heinrich Poos n'est pas le premier compositeur inspiré par Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock poème Die Auferstehung ', car même Gustav Mahler avait déjà utilisé ces versets dans le cinquième mouvement de son' Auferstehung 'Deuxième Symphonie. Mahler a été inspiré d'utiliser un mouvement choral à la fin de sa symphonie à l'enterrement du chef d'orchestre Hans von Bülow où une chorale a chanté un choral sur la base dudit texte par Klopstock.
