This is another one of those absolutely wonderful charts that Lennie did for Stan Kenton for what was known as the dance book. It was the hippest dance book ever! A medium-swing tempo sets this great standard in a framework that is very musical and very exciting. Trumpet and bass are featured. Limited ranges (tpt. written high D). This one will be a real favorite. 5-5-5-3.

This was recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra on Stage Door Swings, and it is one of Lennie's wonderful charts on a great Broadway standard tune. It has very reasonable ranges for all. This shifts between Latin and Swing Feels. Solo for Tenor Sax. 5-5-5-3 (can be played with 8 brass).

As originally recorded by the great Charlie Mariano with the Stan Kenton Orchestra, this is a must-have solo feature for alto saxophone. Let your alto player (or trumpet ...... parts provided for either) shine on this popular standard, arranged by none other than Bill Holman.

Originally arranged for George Roberts and the Stan Kenton Orchestra, Johnny Richards' treatment of the beautiful ballad Yesterdays is a bass trombone feature throughout. In typical Kenton fashion, the ensemble writing is stunning, as it dramatically interplays with the featured soloist. Never having been recorded on a Kenton album, this rare gem is a ballad that will challenge your band and astound your audiences. 5-5-5-4.

This was recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra on Back To Balboa, and it is a highly original, exciting chart (latin/swing) on a great standard tune. Johnny Richards wrote for Kenton as well as anyone. Solos for Alto Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet and Trombone. 5-5-5-3 (can be played with 8 brass).

Here is another one of Johnny Richards' great latin tunes as written for the Stan Kenton Orchestra. This lilting 5/4 chart has a great groove and amazing ensemble writing, with solo space for alto, trumpet, and trombone. This new arrangement makes the piece much easier to play and can be played with traditional instrumentation. Quintile is a part of the Adventures in Time CD.

A giant sized industrial strength jazz rock chart from the pen of Eric Richards that is sure to be a hit with better bands. Lots of energetic ensemble writing combined with solo space for the soloists of your choosing make this an excellent choice for many performance situations. Well crafted rhythm section parts and several spots for your drummer to shine round out this appealing composition. Top notch!

This arrangement by Bob Curnow is based on Johnny Richards' original composition written for the Stan Kenton Orchestra, which was part of the Adventures In Time album. This version is easier to play without losing the original character of the piece. Most of the piece is in 9/8 at a moderate tempo. There are solos for tenor saxophone, trumpet and piano, with a wonderful, written-out piano solo in the beginning. Trumpet ranges are quite reasonable.5-5-5-3.
