Another amazing, exciting chart has been added to the Pat Metheny Series! Bob Curnow's arrangement of Metheny/Mays' composition Stranger In Town hits you in the face right from the start and ends in the same manner. With typical Metheny/Mays flavor, there is a musical shift in the middle as solo space for tenor saxophone emerges, followed by a full ensemble interlude which then takes us to a peak ending. Originally recorded by PMG on their album We Live Here, Curnow has once again masterfully arranged this tune to fit perfectly in a big band setting! 5-4-4-4.

A delightful Latin rock tune that really grooves. Very contemporary in nature and playable with limited instrumentation, Hot Sauce has all the ingredients to become one of your all-time favorite charts. Suggested solos are provided for the open solo section and it also includes several short written keyboard solos which really add to the flavor. Another winner by Howard Rowe! Hot!

This is a lovely, straight-eighth waltz that starts simply and quietly with the rhythm section. There are flute doubles in the alto saxophone parts and a flugelhorn solo. Brass ranges are very limited. This is a great piece to program to contrast the more demanding charts you are performing. 5-4-4-4.

This arrangement continues the Radiohead Jazz Project and adds another wonderful talent to the list of outstanding RJP writers. Omar Thomas has arranged this emotional heavy-rock ballad, focusing on the solo voice of the trombone. There is also solo space for piano. There are flute, clarinet and bass clarinet doubles. This piece has limited brass ranges (written B in the trumpet). 5-4-4-4.
