Par HUET ESTELLE. Je consacre toujours les cinq premières minutes de mes cours à des jeux de formation de l'oreille que j'ai inventés. Ce rituel est un moment très précieux où l'élève se concentre, 'ouvre ses oreilles' et expérimente son instrument par de nouvelles approches. Ces jeux sont très appréciés des élèves et sont parus en 2019 sous la forme d'une méthode de violoncelle. Dans cette deuxième édition, je m'adresse à tous les professeurs de flûte traversière qui cherchent des outils pour aider leurs élèves à progresser et qui souhaitent diversifier leur cours en expérimentant de nouvelles méthodes. Des oreilles magiques est une méthode originale par de nombreux aspects : L'oralité L'élève ne voit jamais la méthode, qui fait uniquement appel à la transmission orale. Ainsi, l'élève fait vraiment jouer ses capacités auditives. L'apprentissage par le jeu Les jeux rendent le cours vivant et permettent de surmonter les difficultés en les abordant dans un contexte nouveau. La transdisciplinarité Cette méthode fait le lien entre le cours d'instrument et le cours de formation musicale, et permet de faire des progrès dans les deux disciplines. Une progression illimitée La plupart des jeux sont déclinés selon cinq niveaux progressifs. Chaque jeu proposé est faisable dès le premier cours de flûte et jusqu'aux plus hauts niveaux, et s'adresse aux enfants comme aux adultes. Le cinquième niveau est présenté sur un ton humoristique pour mettre en évidence le caractère illimité des progrès potentiels. Le lien avec le chant Cette méthode emploie le chant comme un outil central du travail de l'oreille. Tout au long des jeux, l'élève est incité à chanter pour développer son chant intérieur. Je vous souhaite beaucoup de réussite avec cette méthode, et suis certaine que vos élèves adopteront ces jeux avec autant de plaisir que les miens ! Estelle Huet/ Etude / Flûte Traversière

The vivid imagery of the film is woven into the varied textures of this symphonic band medley. Wonderful symphonic literature you should not miss. (8:00)

Hermann Regner prit une suggestion de Carl Orffs dans sa préface à Klavierübung dans la Orff-Schulwerk, où il écrit : les mélodies, qui sont proches de comptines, chansons folkloriques et chansons de danse, d'abord... devraient être joués à l'unisson...Les parties qui l'accompagne simples peuvent être étendues et construits. Les petits morceaux, qui peuvent facilement être mis sur pied dans une suite, peuvent être répétées plusieurs fois,... verset par verset...! ' Dans cet esprit, Hermann Regner, pour nombreuses années, un collègue de Carl Orffs, a choisi personne pièces de la collection et a organisé les cuivres. Ils représentent un enrichissement du répertoire pour des groupes. Ils sont également utilisables pour les écoles de musique./ Répertoire / Ensemble à Vent

The TV Detectives brings together five of Nigel Hess’s best-known television themes (Dangerfield Campion Wycliffe Maigret and Hetty Wainthropp Investigates) all originally written for small-screen sleuths in whodunits that have been enjoyed by TV audiences worldwide. Dangerfield is a BBC series about a Warwickshire police surgeon and originally starred Nigel le Vaillant before Nigel Havers took over the lead role. Campion also from the BBC was based on Margery Allingham’s stories of a mild-mannered 1920s gentleman detective played by Peter Davison. Wycliffe was a long-running HTV series set in Cornwall and starred Jack Shepherd as a somewhat dour andlow-key DCI - but of course he always solved the case! Michael Gambon starred in Granada TV’s latest incarnation of the famous French detective Maigret while Patricia Routledge played the OAP sleuth to perfection in Hetty Wainthropp Investigates another popular BBC series. For the first time these popular tunes which conjure up their programmes perfectly have been arranged for wind band in a continuous suite.

Robert W. Smith has chosen three castles and several colorful characters known for legendary deeds from Irish history and folklore to put to music. The use of tinwhistle, the Irish drum bodran and hints of traditional Irish melodies add ethnic authenticity and fascination to the performance of this work. As we have come to expect from this highly inventive composer, the arena of sounds is expanded at every turn of the page. Musical imagery at its finest! (duration 6:59)

This seven-minute concert overture recalls the early days of the railways and one of the most famous engines of all time ‘The Rocket’. It was commissioned by the Director of the North Hertfordshire Wind Band Phillip Ellis who is the great-great-great-grandson of Stephenson and depicts the Victorian carnival atmosphere on the day of the engine’s inauguration. An ideal work for a good school youth or county level band.

Commissioned in 1985 'East Coast Pictures' has become a modern classic for all wind bands. 'Shelter Island' is the first movement of the suite. The music conjures up a vivid picture of this small island moving from a crowded summer tourist trap to the onslaught of the Atlantic during the winter.
