Percussionniste et chanteur, Paul Mindy, professeur au CNR d'Aubervilliers-la-Courneuve, est spécialiste des musiques du Brésil. Il anime des masterclasses dans le monde entier. Il reçoit le prix Georges Brassens et se produit en tant que chanteur à l'Olympia. Il reçoit également en 2001 le prix de l'Assemblée Nationale et en 2002 le prix de l'Académie Charles Cros.
