Ceci, pour les solistes et accompagnateurs-improvisateurs éventuels, est une façon d'indiquer que si vos patterns nécessitent de se raccorder à une tonalité, c'est à peu près celle-ci qui convient. En effet, pour des raisons un peu plus que dodécaphoniques et un peu moins que sérielles, on ne peut, malgré certaines apparences, trouver de résolutions harmoniques ni dans un cadre tonal ni dans un cadre modal, pour la bonne raison que la somme du nombre de croches pour chacune des notes de la gamme chromatique est égale dans l'arrangement tout entier, et que toutes les notes sont équitablement réparties dans l'ensemble de l'harmonie.
