(+)
A generous bumper collection of the greatest songs ever to grace the silver screen, all arranged for Piano, Voice and Guitar. It is impossible to imagine Goldfinger without the huge, rich voice of Shirley Bassey, Midnight Cowboy without Nilsson's lilting country whisper, Alfie without the Pop/Jazz of Cilla Black and Sonny Rollins, and Easy Rider just would not be the same without Steppenwolf. The greatest film songs are synonymous with the movies they embellish, capable of lifting a scene from the screen and into our hearts and minds. These songs will forever evoke memories of our favourite characters and situations, long after the film has ended. Learn to play 100 of the greatest film songs ever written with this great-value songbook, packed to the limits with all the laughs, tears, memories and surprises of the movies - a guaranteed hit no matter what the occasion! / Piano/Vocal/Guitare (PVG)

The Gallipoli Campaign took place between April 1915 and January 1916 and marked the first significant military engagement for Australia as an independent dominion. The Gallipoli Songbook commemorates this crucial event of the Great War with a collection of contemporary songs relating to the soldiers, the public at home, and the sheer poignancy of such a tragic event, all arranged for Piano, Vocal and Guitar. The diversity of songs included in this Gallipoli Songbook is testament to the spirit of optimism, consolation and humour inherent in the collective consciousness at the time of such great anxiety and fear. This is a wonderful compilation of contemporary tunes that were popular both before the War, during the various campaigns and after the War itself. Some songs included here sum up the optimistic and patriotic spirit in the years leading up to Gallipoli, such as Waltzing Matilda and God Save The King, while others like And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, from after the event, look back on the horrors of the Anzac experience on those fateful days.Other tunes come from the wonderful British Music Hall tradition, using irony, sarcasm and humour to overcome the sadness associated with the Great War. Songs like Oh! It's A Lovely War, It's A Long Way To Tipperary and Along The Road To Gundagai were popular both at home and as marching tunes, conquering the petrifying realities of war with rousing music and song. The Gallipoli Songbook also includes wistful, sad and heartbreakingly poignant lyrics that capture the unavoidable sadness associated with the costs of total war, songs like I Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now, There's A Long, Long Trail and The Gift Of Years, all bittersweet reflections on love, loss and life's transience. Each song included here is a fantastic way to remember the victims of the Gallipoli campaign, and to understand the power that music has to allay, disguise and reflect upon fear and anxiety. The songs, arranged for Piano, Vocal and Guitar with full lyrics and chord boxes, are a fascinating insight into the period from before the War to after it, and their timelessness makes them as fun to play and sing now, as they were back then. The book also contains a smattering of brilliant images from the time, as well as an extensive foreword that explains, in detail, some of the songs and their meanings. The Gallipoli Songbook is an enjoyable, poignant and fascinating collection of tunes of, or relating to, the Great War and the Gallipoli campaign. Each song is beautiful in its own way, and would be perfect for a commemorative performance, or just an addition to your general repertoire. This songbook is perfect for a musician interested in history, or simply anyone who appreciates the golden age of emotive songs that meant more back then than we could ever imagine today. / Piano/Vocal/Guitare (PVG)

(+)
This matching folio includes every song from Bob Dylan's album Shadows In The Night, the critically acclaimed album of standard pop tunes originally recorded by Frank Sinatra. Featuring all ten songs arranged for Piano, Voice and Guitar, with full lyrics and chord boxes, this songbook is perfect for fans of Dylan, Sinatra or simply fantastic tunes. The album itself was highly anticipated, with Bob Dylan announcing he was 'un-covering' a collection of classic pop standards, hand-selected by himself. Dylan is certainly no stranger to cover versions, drawing from the folk tradition in his early career and putting out 2 back-to-back folk cover albums in the early 1990s. The news that this album would be a collection of songs made famous by Sinatra came as a surprise, considering Sinatra's derision of the early days of the folk scene. Despite this, time forged a mutual respect, with Dylan even, perhaps half-jokingly, claiming he was merely a 'song and dance man'. Dylan's long-term love for songs such as these resulted in Shadows In The Night, a collection of songs made famous by one of the greatest singers ever, performed by possibly the greatest songwriter ever.Shadows In The Night is not just a collection of standards, however, it's a beautiful reinterpretation of simple songs featuring some of Dylan's best singing in recent years. With this Bob Dylan sheet music, you can learn all songs from the album, including I'm A Fool To Want You, Full Moon And Empty Arms, and Why Try To Change Me Now. The career of Bob Dylan has been full of twists, turns and continual reinvention. Throughout, though, the consistent thread has been that he dictates his own path, and this album is an intensely personal one. On the album, you can hear the rustling of paper, the measured intake of breath, and you get the real sense that these songs are truly meaningful. The Shadows In The Night sheet music allows you to learn these wonderful new arrangements in their entirety, the subdued Guitar chords, the Piano accompaniment, and Dylan's unmistakeable vocal part. Songs like Stay With Me and Autumn Leaves feature melancholy melodies that take on an entirely new meaning when sung by such a musical legend, while the highlight of the album, That Lucky Old Sun, has a stunningly uplifting vocal performance that perfectly complements the quietly beautiful arrangement of his band. The subtle, subdued and simple arrangements of these tunes are begging to be covered, performed and played in your own home. The calm backing instruments throughout the album make this Shadows In The Night sheet music songbook perfect for a solo Piano performance, a singer's reinvention or an intimate and acoustic band cover. With accurate transcriptions, this Bob Dylan sheet music is the best place from which to learn these incredible covers that just call out to be sung over and over. The best thing about Shadows In The Night is how universal and timeless it is. These are songs composed by some of the greatest, that were then made famous by one of the greatest, and now reinvented by one of the greatest - it doesn't get much better than that! The album is perfect for purists, consummate for casual players and brilliant whether you're a pianist, guitarist or singer. If you want to learn how Dylan played these wonderful tunes, check out this Shadows In The Night sheet music songbook. / Piano/Vocal/Guitare (PVG)
