The Barber Of Seville is a comic opera in two acts with a libretto (based on Beaumarchais's comedy Le Barbier De Seville). The Largo Al Factotum is from Act 1 of the opera as Figaro approaches the square by the house of Bartolo. Probably Rossini's most famous aria arranged for 4 bassoons. Enjoyable to listen to and great fun to play.Grade: 6

Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla (c. 1590-1664) was a Spanish-born Mexican composer of the Renaissance period. Although born in Málaga, Spain, he moved to Puebla, Mexico in 1620, and was later appointed maestro de capilla of the Puebla Cathedral in 1628. C'est un chant de résistance contre le régime de Shah et est sur une mère qui chante une berceuse à son enfant et raconte l'histoire de son père. Basé sur cette chanson, Barbara Heller composé du duo 'Lalai, berceuse pour se réveiller? pour violon (violoncelle) et piano en 1989 - dans la mémoire des 50 femmes iraniennes qui ont été assassinés sous le régime de Khomeiny.'Lalai 'est désormais disponible dans une version pour quatre bassons pour la première fois. Le compositeur a arrangé la chanson de charme des gens simples et les cris à l'aide désespéré pour ensemble de basson avec un sens aigu du détail.
