From aromas of family favorites cooking in the kitchen to the images of decorated trees snow scenes and caroling - all are a part of that wonderful celebration.Rather than just taking the same old Public Domain Christmas carols for one more go ?round Timothy Johnson has composed the majority of THREE HOLIDAY SCENES using fresh and original melodies. The first scene opens with fragments of ?Oh Tannenbaum? but quickly moves into a beautiful Christmas waltz. An ?effets de neige ? or ?Snowfall effect ? carries the luscious second and contrasting scene. In the 3rd and final scene the phrases from well-known carols mergewith one another creating the effect of ?caroling.? Finally melodies serve as counterpoint for one another and bring this delightful vignette to a close. The first part of this three-part composition has the appropriate title ‘On Tour’. When we chose our holiday destination the brochure said that it would be bathed in sunlight every day. Unfortunately this turns out not to be the case. Somewhat melancholically we play round games in our summer house on a ‘Rainy Day’. However the next day when the sun again has driven away all the clouds we naturally visit the ‘Crowded Beach’ where we enjoy both sun sea and beach once again.

This medley of two of John Lennon's most popular songs has been arranged as a tribute to the holiday season. Although the selected songs' timeless message about peace and goodwill towards men is appropriate all year round, it seems especially poignant during the holidays. The ensemble parts have been arranged to capture the essence of these iconic songs, while providing plenty of teaching and learning opportunities about harmony, melody, rhythm, and feel. Elle finira cependant par gagner son cœur en se rendant à une soirée dansante vêtue d?une superbe robe rouge. Tout est bien qui finitbien.Buckaroo Holiday est le premier mouvement de la suite pour orchestre. Robuste et puissant avec quelques passages mélodieux et lyriques ce premier épisode évolue sur de nombreux rythmes syncopés et évoque avec justesse la vie du cow-boy (ou buckaroo - terme dérivé de l?espagnol vaquero signifiant « vacher »).Cette excellente transcription pour Orchestre d?Harmonie a été réalisée par Ed Keeley. Elle reste parfaitement fidèle à la version originale.
