Konzert für Flöte Streicher und Basso continuo-From among the nearly 300 flute concertos by Johann Joachim Quantz the flute teacher of King Frederick the Great the G-major work QV 5:174 has been enjoying a very special popularity ever since its rediscovery by the Dresden flautist Moritz F?rstenau in the late 19th century. The principal source for the present Urtext edition is the set of parts of the first performance which took place in Berlin's Charlottenburg Palace in 1745. This source assumes a unique significance due to the many entries and emendations in the hand of the composer.

Antiphysis, le rejet du naturalisme sous toutes ses formes: sens commun, déferlement des puissances aveugles, menus drames de la profondeur. Au royaume d'Antiphysis, tout est gauche, oblique, indirect, labyrinthique. Antiphysis est écrit pour flûte soliste et orchestre de chambre. J'ai voulu une flûte privée de sa vocation pastorale, une flûte torride, âcre, emplie de la rumeur des villes. La relation de l'instrumentiste à l'orchestre est délibérément maintenue dans l'ambiguïté. La flûte procède par échappées, éclipses, interférences, développements intermittents. Jamais le soliste n'occupe une position centrale. La partition repose sur des symétries de structures et de fonction, toutes légèrement gauchies. J'ai cherché, dans la mise en oeuvre, à multiplier les axes, inverser ou échanger les rôles, entrecroiser les techniques jusqu'à la limite de leur compatibilité mutuelle.
