Nocturne Klavierauszug mit Solostimme - KA SoloSt - violin and orchestra Henri Dutilleux was born in Angers, France, in 1916. This ten-minute Nocturne in one movement was first performed in London by Anne-Sophie Mutter. The demanding solo part has closely alternating virtuoso and lyrical passages. The orchestra accompanies and engages in a dialogue with the solo violin in a colourful and elegant manner that is typically French. Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco: Chant Hébraïque For Violin And Piano. Sheet Music for Violin Piano Accompaniment

(+)
Born into a family that had lived in Florence since the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492 Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968) entertained only a distant relationship with the music he heard at synagogue: a Renaissance church held more appeal for the Florentine artist than the Oriental décor of his forefathers’ place of worship. It was only when he discovered Schelemo a rhapsody for cello and orchestra written in 1916 by Ernest Bloch that he began to understand what “Jewish music” could be. It would take until the death of his maternal grandfather and the discovery of a collection of prayers set to music among his papers for the youngCastelnuovo-Tedesco to begin to explore Jewish music. In 1928 two years after publishing the Dances of King David he wrote this Vocalise-Étude for medium voice and piano at the request of vocal teacher Amédée-Landély Hettich who wanted to include it in the Répertoire moderne de Vocalises-Études published by Leduc. The piece became so popular that it led to several adaptations and the composer asked his close friend Gioacchino Maglioni (1891-1966) to transcribe it for violin and piano. Divided into three sections the work opens with a poignant lamento that grieves the tragic fate of the Jewish people. Countering what he felt to be a tendency of Jewish music to transform into a “Wailing Wall” Castelnuovo-Tedesco follows the lamento with a folk dance whose brisk “lively and stubborn” movement has great panache. The third section returns to the initial poignant theme before briefly reiterating the dance motif allowing the piece to conclude on a hopeful note.

Jones: Viennese Fiddler: Violin: Instrumental Album

(+)
Viennese music has become almost synonymous with Johann Strauss II and his great waltzes. But of course there were other luminaries: his father Johann Strauss I his talented brothers Josef and Eduard as well as their colleagues friends and rivals. This collection includes music by some of these; and apart from waltzes we have polkas (slow and fast) a couple of melodies from operettas and a march. The selection ranges from shorter eminently playable miniatures to a handful of more extended and challenging arrangements. The waltz kings were first and foremost fiddlers. They led their orchestras from the front instrument and bow in hand. As a young man JohannStrauss II used to practise his Violin in a full-length mirror so he would look every inch the part. They knew how to write for the Violin how to make it sing and dance and this helps to make the repertoire a perfect foil to the other volumes in this series. The arrangements in this collection can be performed as solos duets or trios or by larger ensembles. In fact here are all the resources to recreate a Viennese café orchestra! The full range of traditional fiddle repertoire is now at your fingertips! Using these generous collections you can create your own ceilidh barn dance jazz club Sarajevo street-café or Gypsy gathering. Some of this music is familiar some more exotic but all of it is absolutely authentic faithfully arranged and above all hugely enjoyable. Each title in the series is available in two formats: the Violin edition (with an optional easy Violin part and Guitar chords); or the complete edition which also includes both Keyboard and Violin accompaniments. Either format is hugely flexible which means the music can be played as solos duets or trios as well as with larger ensembles. Edward Huws Jones has travelled extensively researching fiddle-playing traditions. In each book he explains the background of the particular musical style giving his own suggestions for a lively performance. And to help recreate the spirit of the music every book in the series is beautifully illustrated.

Following the performance, Ravel spent the remainder of the evening requesting D?Aranyi to play numerous gypsy tunes on her violin, probing her on the technical limits of the instrument. The result of this encounter is Ravel?s virtuoso classic ?Tzigane?. Written originally for violin and piano or luthéal (a mechanism invented in 1919 that attaches to a piano, producing a sound similar to the rich overtones of the Cimbalon), the premiere took place in London in April 1924. The composer had finished the work only days beforehand. Ravel later orchestrated ?Tzigane? and both versions remain a ?must? for music-lovers and aspiring violinists today. Jelly D?Aranyi performed both versions regularly throughout her long career. This Urtext edition presents the first scholarly-critical edition of Ravel?s masterpiece. It is published both in the orchestral version, complete with full score and performance material, as well as in the composer?s earlier version for violin and piano. All known sources, including letters, have been drawn on for the new edition; one of the available sources, consulted for the first time, was a copy of ?Tzigane? from the estate of Jelly D?Aranyi, which is today part of a private collection. The version for piano and violin contains, besides the Urtext part, a second violin part as a facsimile with performance instructions by Jelly D?Aranyi. D?Aranyi?s alterations and fingering reflect how Ravel must have heard the work in rehearsals and performance and as such are a document of early 20th century performance practice. The cooperation between Ravel and D?Aranyi is comparable to that of Brahms and Joachim working on the Brahms violin concerto. - First scholarly-critical Urtext edition of the work - Presented are both versions: for violin and orchestra and for violin and piano - Includes Jelly D?Aranyi?s fingering

Following the composition of Harold En Italie for Viola and orchestra in 1834, Berlioz began work on the opera Benvenuto Cellini , which subsequently failed on its first performances at the Paris Opera in 1838. Berlioz withdrew the opera for substantial revision, and from some of the discharged material he later fashioned this Reverie Et Caprice (in versions both for Violin and orchestra and Violin and Piano). Dedicated to Berlioz's violinist friend Alexandre-Joseph Artot, the piece was quickly taken up by several celebrated violinists of the time, including David, Joachim and Wieniawski, and was played all over Europe. This new edition for Violin and Piano, by the musicologist and performer Neil Heyde, is based on the first edition of the score.

Piano reduction and violin part. Carl Vine’s atmospheric Violin Concerto (2011) creates a rich and multi-faceted relationship between soloist and orchestra. Unfolding over two finely-crafted movements of roughly equal length the 23-minute work often uses the orchestra sparingly with players from the orchestra joining the soloist in delicate chamber-music textures.

Benjamin Frankel's reputation is based on the cycle of five string quartets and eight symphonies which together with the powerfully beautiful concertos for violin and for viola rather overshadow many of his other fine pieces. The Violin Concerto grew from the composer's long and close association with Max Rostal a friendship which also inspired one of Frankel's perhaps best known compositions the First Sonata for Solo Violin.Frankel's exciting Concerto For Violin And Orchestra Op.24 has been beautifully arranged for Violin with Piano Reduction by Philip G. Jones. The solo violin part is also included on a separate insert.

for Violin and Piano-Following the publication of the Valse-Scherzo we continue Henle's edition of Tchaikovsky?s complete works for violin and piano with the enchanting Sérénade mélancolique op. 26. This was Tchaikovsky?s first concertante work forviolin the beginning of a path that was to lead to his Violin Concerto three years later. He composed the Sérénade mélancolique in 1875 for violinist Leopold Auer originally for violin and orchestra but later also in a versionfor violin and piano. Since the autograph sources are lost this Henle edition is based on the Russian first editions which even in Tchaikovsky?s lifetime were issued in a number of revised versions. The editor RussianTchaikovsky scholar Alexander Komarov brings exemplary clarity to the confused state of the sources while Ingolf Turban unlocks the notation of the violin part with his accomplished fingerings and bowings.

Originally written for Violin and Orchestra between 1873 and 1877 Dvo ák?s Romance immediately followed his String Quartet in F minor (1873) and draws on the theme from its slow movement. He probably wrote the Romance for his friend the Violin virtuoso Franti?ek Ond ek who later premiered Dvo ák?s Violin Concerto in 1883.This Barenreiter edition is the first to avail itself of the recently rediscovered autograph of Dvo ák?s own version for Violin and Piano. Compared to the well-known Piano reductions it differs from the Orchestral version in several important respects and is also one barshorter. This new edition containing the composer?s more authentic version can nevertheless also serve as a Piano reduction to the Orchestral version.First edition of the Piano version based on Dvo ák?s autograph.Foreword by David R. Beveridge (Cz/Eng/Ger).Critical Commentary (Eng) by the editor.

The Concerto For Violin And Orchestra In E (BWV 1042) was written in three movements: Allegro Adagio Allegro Assai. Its history is somewhat vague as no autograph manuscript survives. Originallyscored for Violin Strings and Continuo it is presented here with a Piano reduction. Editorial suggestions for bowing and fingering have been provided together with a ?clean? copy for the violinist?s own use. J. S.Bach (1685-1750) was a German Baroque composer who is revered for the originality and skill of his contrapuntal and harmonic techniques. He spent most of his life working as an organist and choirmaster but was also employedas a composer a many different Royal Courts.

Dvorák, AntonÃn Concerto for Violin and Orchestra A minor op. 53 Edition no. BA 10422-90 ISMN 9790260107687 Editor Cividini, Iacopo Dvorák?s Violin Concerto was composed between 1879 and 1882, with the active assistance of Joseph Joachim, and was issued by the publisher Fritz Simrock, Berlin in 1883. Its premiere took place in October of that same year with Franti?ek OndrÃcek as soloist. This new Urtext edition is based on the first edition (score, solo violin part, piano reduction and orchestral parts). It also takes Dvorák?s autograph which served as a master copy for the engraving into consideration. A fresh assessment of Dvorák?s manuscript made it possible to reconstruct several variants ignored in the first and subsequent editions and to clarify ambiguities in the notation and articulation. An important component of our Urtext edition is the original piano reduction, which probably stems from Dvorák himself, and in which Joseph Joachim?s fingering is published. ? First Urtext edition of the original piano reduction ? Variants in the solo part rendered as ossia passages ? Foreword on the work?s genesis (Ger/Cz/Eng) and detailed Critical Commentary (Eng) by the editor

with marked and unmarked string part-Just like many other violin virtuosos of the 19th century Pablo de Sarasate also composed a series of pieces for violin and piano (or orchestra) for his own concert use. Highly virtuosic salon pieces with echoes of national folkmusic traditions from all over Europe are at the centre. Sarasate published his eight Spanish dances in four books between 1878 and 1882. They alternate between fiery passion and a yearning expressiveness and are undoubtedlyamong his most successful compositions. In masterly fashion Sarasate here mixes up Spanish folk tunes with arrangements of popular compositions of the time. As in the case of the Henle Urtext edition of Sarasate???s Zigeunerweisen(HN 573) a violin wizard of our own time is responsible for the fingerings and bowings: Ingolf Turban.
