Sur le compact disc, chaque morceau est joué à titre de démonstration. L?instrument soliste peut ensuite interpréter les pièces avec l?accompagnement seul. Et pour jouer en direct lors d?un concert, il est également possible d?acquérir les accompagnements de piano rassemblés dans des recueils vendus séparément.

Le but de ce texte est de fournir au timbalier de l'élève intermédiaire avec une collection d'études musicales basé sur la littérature de plus en plus pour Timpani.Cette étude a été écrit pour être utilisé à la fois l'école secondaire et du collégial. Il est divisé en trois sections: pages 3-17, exercices pour deux tambours, pages 18-32, exercices pour trois tambours, et les pages 33-47, exercices pour quatre tambours. Depuis ce livre a été conçu principalement comme une source de matériel de lecture et non comme une méthode progressive, l'étudiant peut passer d'une section à l', travaillant sur les études les plus pertinentes pour eux.Peut-être l'aspect le plus important de ce travail est l'abondance des éléments musicaux contenus dans chaque étude. Par MANTOVANI BRUNO. Contrary to what one might think, it is particularly difficult to write a solo or concertante work for an instrument that a person is very familiar with. Whenever I encounter this situation, I always feel a certain reserve or prudence, or even apprehension about leaning toward facility, in terms of gestures. Lack of objectivity can result in the imagination being more instrumental than purely musical. However, when Benoît Cambreling came to me proposing that I write a concerto for timpani, I did not hesitate for an instant because this instrument possesses extraordinary and often under exploited musical potential. This percussion instrument often provides a type of harmonic and rhythmic base in the orchestra, but can also assume the role of a soloist. I began by writing an etude for solo timpani making use of glissandi, rhythmic inflections, as well as the melodic potential. Once this first step was completed, I began to 'orchestrate' the etude, or rather to extend the instrumental material into the orchestra by creating illusions of resonance, doublings, and echoes. Sometimes, the timpani also become a reservoir of ideas for the orchestra capable of triggering textures (as in instrumental electronic music). Here however, the instrument is above all treated in a melodic manner, reinforced, or not, by orchestral instruments that create a backdrop and the illusion of extension./ Répertoire / Timbales

Three Dances for Solo Timpani was written in 1998 and dedicated to percussionist Neil Grover. The dances can be performed as individual solo works or together as a suite. Melodic intervals and timbre contrasts provide color for each dance. Subtle ambiguity in rhythm, pulse, and pacing create a challenge for the performer and listener. The composer was influenced by several different styles and periods of music in the writing of Three Dances.

These 15 expertly written, intermediate-level solos were written as a companion to Fundamental Method for Timpani, but can act as supplementary material to the simultaneous study of any method book. Each solo is suitable for contests or juries and features a challenging variety of musical styles and contexts. / Timpani
