Bold arched melodiesspringing from resilient purposeful chords likewise animate the music a sonic tableau of the sites/sights and sounds of history. The premiere performance was conducted by David Lardi with the Finchley Chamber Choir.

Thomas Tertius Noble (1867-1953) was a British organist composer and choirmaster who spent the latter part of his career in the United States. He studied at the Royal College of Music before serving at Ely and the York as organist and choirmaster. In 1913 he took up a position at St Thomas Episcopal Church in Manhattan New York where he remained for thirty years and is credited with establishing a choir school in the Anglican tradition that continues to this day. His second setting of the evening canticles the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis is in the key of A major. It is scored for SATB chorus with Piano or Organ accompaniment.
