According to the score notes for this pensive adaptation, the key to a warm and colorful rendition lies chiefly in an exceptional emphasis on dynamics. Playing in a smooth legato style and with vibrato at the climactic moments is highly recommended. A brief cameo for lead trumpet midway through is the only solo.
