He is mocked and rejected by everyone. But Jakob is not disheartened! Written for chorus and solo voices, the Singspiel is suitable for children and young people from 6 to 14 years. Not being allowed to communicate with anyone nor to receive visitors the Queen was able to receive a bouquet of flowers brought to her each day. This song is a treasured favorite from the deep cultural heritage of Hawaii.

A German Singspiel ensemble performed Mozart?s Schauspieldirektor whilst Antonio Salieri?s Prima La Musica E Poi Le Parole was performed by the Italian court singers and musicians.This charming opera satire belongs to the genre of 'metamelodramma' in which the opera itself becomes the subject of the action. The people who are part of an opera production for example thelibrettist composer and prima donna appear as characters on the stage and are presented in a humorous self-reflection. In this ?theatre about theatre? Salieri parodies the music from Giuseppe Sarti?s Giulio Sabino in his insert arias thus playing on the music which was totally familiar with the audience of the time. By reflecting on the musical-dramatic style of that period and discussing whether the word or the music should take priority this masterpiece is considered to be an early forerunner to Richard Strauss' Capriccio.

This work possibly commissioned by Prince-Bishop Sigismund Christoph von Schrattenbach was assigned to three Salzburg composers: W. A. Mozart (part 1) Michael Haydn (part 2) and Anton Cajetan Adlgasser (part 3). Only the manuscript of part 1 has survived. Here Mozart drew heavily on the Salzburg tradition of church music and school dramas perhaps taking Johann Ernst Eberlin and even his father Leopold as his models. The first performance took place in the Knights’ Hall of the prince’s palace on 12 March 1767. The libretto was supplied by Ignaz Anton Weiser (1701 1785) town councillor and mayor of Salzburg. Mozart wrote out many of theappoggiaturas in this early work thereby providing a useful guide to the vocal practices of his day. Aria No.2 has come down to us with an instructive passage in which the Vocal part is ornamented in the hand of Leopold Mozart.

This is the score for Judith Weir's Praise Him With Trumpets a work for 2 Trumpets SATB Choir and Organ. Commissioned by Historic Royal Palaces in collaboration with The Choral Foundation the piece wascomposed for the Hampton Court Chapel Royal Choir in celebration of Hampton Court 500. A setting of text from Psalms 146 and 150 this work can also be performed without Trumpets. A review in the May/June 2016 edition of'Choir & Organ' magazine states that 'the work has all the hallmarks of this composer's cliché-free yet immediately appealing style.
