Marcho Brioso est une œuvre de commande pour le Brioso Brass un Brass Band de style britannique basé à Hokkaido au Japon. La création mondiale de cette pièce eut lieu en janvier 2012.L?orchestre souhaitant une marche enjouée qui pourrait lui servir d?indicatif musical Marcho Brioso s?inscrit dans la lignée des marches du compositeur : Jubiloso Slipstream et The Bandwagon. Un style « broadwayien » des motifs fortement syncopés et quelques surprenantes et capricieuses mesures viennent troubler le rythme régulièrement cadencé de ces marches.Après une courte introduction le cornet solo joue le thème principal accompagné d?un contre-chant àl?euphonium. Un second motif de huit mesures exécuté par les cors et les barytons mène à une version tutti du thème principal. Puis une brève section intermédiaire est déléguée aux basses. Le changement de tonalité qui s?ensuit annonce le trio qui contient une mélodie cantabile confiée à l?euphonium ; ce trio est ensuite repris par l?orchestre entier après un bref passage de transition et un autre changement de tonalité.Nous revenons ensuite à la tonalité de départ pour un rappel du thème principal en une paisible version staccato et une courte coda pour conclure cette marche brillante et sémillante.

Marchissimo est un condensé de trois marches qui offre deux possibilités d?interprétation. Elle peut être jouée telle qu?elle est écrite ou se développer selon un jeu scénique bien structuré où les musiciens entrent en scène au moment de leur première intervention dans la pièce. Chaque groupe expose alors un des trois thèmes principaux. Lorsque la formation est au complet un court passage constitué de fragments des trois lignes mélodiques surgit à travers l?ensemble de la formation avant d?aborder le tutti final ultime retour des trois thèmes exposés simultanément.

for Low Brass Ensemble-Five Open-ended Pieces est une oeuvre sophistiquée résolument sonore et enrichie d?effets rythmiques surprenants composée pour Quatre Euphoniums et Quatre Tubas. Les cinq mouvements sont intitulés Warm-Up Tango Méditation Valse et Marche.Finaliste du Concours de composition 2012 organisé par l?ITEA (Association international de Tuba et Euphonium) - USA

Marching Blues est écrit dans un style où se croisent les influences blues et résolument swing-jazz des grands Big Bands. Idéale pour exploiter le talent des musiciens cette marche développe un solo de vingt-huit mesures confié au tuba saxophone ténor ou saxophone baryton. Quelle que soit la taille de votre formation (d?un petit ensemble instrumental à la formation complète) cette marche séduira aussi bien les musiciens que les auditeurs toutes générations confondues.

En 2009 un an à peine après sa création l?ensemble de cuivres suisse Azimuts Brass commande un indicatif à son directeur Marc Jeanbourquin. Il compose ainsi Jazzimut une introduction festive contrastée par un thème plus lyrique. Puis se développent quelques mesures de style rock amenant peu à peu un motif solidement disco. Une dernière réexposition en fanfare de l?introduction parachève cette pièce d?ouverture dans un finale pétillant.

Ireland is a multi-faceted country that has developed a popular and distinctive musical culture. The first movement of Dublin Pictures reflects Irish festivals where there is dancing and traditional beer flowing.More tranquil in its feel the second movement illustrates the landscape that can be seen from the Ha’penny Bridge a bridge that crosses the River Liffey in Dublin. This movement highlights the wide range of the orchestra’s sound colours as the musicians’ voices combine with the wind and percussion to accompany the soloist. The lively and joyful rhythms of the last movement take the listener to Temple Bar the famoustourist quarter of the city well known for its vibrant nightlife.The music’s energy and virtuosic motifs are in contrast to the previous movement and provide a spirited and festive finale.Marc Jeanbourquin wrote this piece in three movements for Azimuts Brass in 2011. He then arranged it for Concert Fanfare or Brass Band.

The Battell was written during the late 14th Century when England was in a mood of national celebration after victory over the Spanish and French Armadas. The movement which Byrd called Marche Before The Battell became known as The Earl of Oxford's March and it appears with that title in an early manuscript copy of the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book. Written while Byrd was at the height of his powers it still stirs the soul to this day. A perfect opener for your concert performances.

In this work the Dutch composer Marc van Delft attempts to bring together two parties (former friends) after they have grown inexplicably apart. For this reason he calls in the help (Invocation) from the medium of music.At first 'Invocation' radiates a sense of serene calme from which the composer gradually creates an atmosphere resembling a conversation.Half-way there is an increase of suspense ending once again in calm.The listener remains uncertain however regarding the finish. In dit werk probeert de Nederlandse componist Marc van Delft twee partijen samen te brengen (vroegere vrienden) nadat ze op onverklaarbare wijze uit elkaar zijn gegroeid. Daaromroept hij de hulp in (Invocation) van het medium muziek. In het begin straalt 'Invocation' een gevoel van serene rust uit waaruit de componist geleidelijk een sfeer creëert die lijkt op een gesprek. Halverwege is er een toename van de spanning die weer in rust eindigt. De luisteraar blijft echter onzeker over de afloop.

This composition of Marc Cunningham has four parts and takes place on a sunny day in a picturesque town. 1. Promenade Many people walk through the city. The band passes through the streets. People are strolling along the avenues and amorous couples are sitting on a park bench. 2. Lovey Dovey One of these couples is knee-deep in love. 3. Crispy and Creamy Here the contrasts between a crisp staccato section in two-four time signature and a smooth legato section in three-four time signature are depicted. Is Crispy the boy and Creamy the girl? 4. Farewell In the last particle the couple says goodbye. We still think back tothe walk through the city. It sounds a little less happy now. Not everyone is good at saying goodbye sometimes a tear flows.
